Nyu 7 year dental vs. Georgetown

Gtown: health science major
I hear out of 40 hs majors 20 are premed, and about 8 ppl actually complete the premed requisites.

Nyu: 3 yr bio major, then nyu dental school
If requirements (maintain B and 19 on DAT) then dental school basically guaranteed. But roughly 5 to 10 ppl out of 40~50 actually meet requirements each year.

Which option would be better? I know I want to go into dentistry, but even the 7 yr program seems pretty risky.
Either campus is good for me, so this is a very hard decision :( please help

noproblem,

If you know you want to go into dentistry, I think the NYU 7 year program is worth while to consider. Even if it is not a 100% guarantee, if you are diligent and work hard, staying ahead of the curve (make sure the professors and people know you well), you should still be ahead of the game.

Going to Georgetown and competing with pre-med students is definitely more cut-throat.
In most highly ranked schools, those pre-med classes are supposed to weed out students early with some very difficult classes. You really do not have to worry about that. You can stay focused on doing well in the courses that are required and those that you select.

I would also begin looking at either a DAT Prep course or starting your own prep during the summer as soon as you can.

The 7 years vs. 8 years also sounds better because you are saving $60,000+ for one year of tuition and fees and will be starting to work one year earlier (bringing in income one year earlier). All in all a very good deal for someone who knows his/ her objective for a career.

I know there was some discussion about how prestigious NYU is, but that DDS is the final thing that matters along with a decent internship. NYU Dental is supposed to be strong in its clinical training.
