As the deadline approaches, I am having a difficult time choosing and would like to receive some advice from others. As stated in the title, I have narrowed the options down to UOP 3+3 Dental Advantage Prgram (6 years) and NYU CAS BA/DDS Program (7 years). I have receive scholarships from both schools, so the expenses will be approximately the same. I greatly appreciate any insight or advice
My parents want me to be a doctor/dentist, but I don’t, because I don’t want to spend too much time in school. So in my biased opinion, UoP’s program would be better, but I imagine it would be more vigorous.
6 year program vs 7 year program makes it a pretty easy decision in my eyes. While NYU is considered the “better school” in the rankings, both will provide a great education. I’d go for UoP and graduate a year earlier. Also depends where you live though, if you’re on the East Coast UoP is probably difficult logistically and vice versa. Either way, I wish you the best of luck!
Good for you. Congrats. I have never asked my dentist where he went to college. I probably am most concerned that he passed the boards and licensing requirements. Other than being nice and great dentist. @irishfan21 has good advice too
I personally would choose NYU because you’d have better options if you decide that dentistry really isn’t for you.
Ultimately, you have to live your life for yourself, not your parents. So you have to wait until your parents die to live your life?
