Is it possible to get into NYU with 1700 SAT score 3.7 gpa minority status and of course couple of clubs teams recomendations and 800 community hours? But SAT worries me the most right now

did you take 2 sat II? and is your income below 40k? If so then you might be eligible for the HEOP program.
Here is the income guidline to see if you are eligible.
Opportunity Program Home

If you are not eligible for HEOP then you would go into the regular pool with all the other students with higher stats. But being a minority might help. Tests your luck and see what happens. Anything can happen =]

How about ED for that college and yes my parents together make 10-15k per year

i didnt take the subject tests yet but i think ill be able to score 550-700 on 3 of them

When you do the application put in the "additional information" section
"Please consider me for HEOP"
Or something along those lines.
They say they see if each applicant is eligible themselves but I don't trust them haha.

The SAT requirement for HEOP is 1000-1250(M+CR) I'm sure you fall within that since you got a 1700 on the SAT.

I think with your GPA,SAT,low income, and minority status-- you would be a great candidate for HEOP and have a good shot at it. NYU only has 250 spots for the program though and you would have to do a 6 week program in the summer if accepted.

good luck =]

What does this HEOP will give me?

550-700 is a huge range lol.

HEOP, basically it makes it easier to get into and you'll be going to NYU practically for free. They'll give you money for books and whatnot every months, little perks like that. Though, one catch if that you'll have to take a 6 week summer classes at NYU before you start school in the fall and they don't count for any credit at all, but it makes it easier for you to succeed and keep up with the college work once you're in NYU.

EDITED: Oh this is only for NY state residents btw.

what if ill take act?can i still be a part of HEOP?

Yeah it doesn't matter, they'll convert the score.

are SAT II subject tests required?

No, SAT IIs are no longer required as of this year.
