NYU Biology Major Question

I was looking at a sample schedule ,and I saw that in the 2nd year, students can take Molecular and Cellular Biology along with Organic Chemistry. The lab for Molecular and Cellular Biology is optional, but "strongly recommended". Are there any Biology majors here that can kindly comment on this? Should you really take the lab when you are juggling a Molecular Bio course with an Organic Chem + Lab course? If you don't take the lab, are you at a disadvantage in the lecture portion of the class? Also, if you don't take the lab while taking the lecture portion, could you take it another year?

I mean, take it if you want it and don’t if you don’t. It would probably be most beneficial to take it concurrently with the class to reinforce the concepts, if you did want to take it. It does not look like you can take it after taking MolecCell, but you should email someone in the department to confirmBut it is not unusual for science majors to take multiple lab classes in a single semester.
