Hi everyone, I was just wondering how much more difficult NYU Stern is to get into than NYU CAS. I really love NYU, and am wondering if my interest in business would be detrimental to my admission chances since I would be applying to Stern.. Thanks!

** Brief overview of stats:**
White Male

UW: 3.67
W: 4.2
SAT: 2270
Taking SAT subject tests in fall.

-Very good EC's, charity, and leadership positions.

** EDIT: ** I have the same question for USC Marshall vs Dornsife college of LAS... opinions?

It is a lot harder to get into Stern than into CAS. Usually people who get into ivies and other very competitive school are admitted into Stern. At the same time, I think you have a very good shot of getting into Stern. You just have to decide whether you want to go to NYU and increase your chance of acceptance by applying to CAS or actually going only for business and taking a risk with Stern. Also stern admits a lot less people than CAS.

Yeah, that’s where I’m conflicted. Thanks for the input though! I’d really like business, but part of me wants to go to a school for the school itself and not a major.
