NYU CAS chances

are these sats good enough?

Total is 1930 but combined M + CR is only 1130.

CR= 550
M=580
W=800

and subject tests=

french= 790
spanish=640

I would heavily suggest you retake the SAT. It’s quite peculiar that you only received a 550 when you got a perfect score in writing. I’d take it in November (after studying from the blue book & Princeton). You need to hurry! Also, I suggest you take the ACT at least once. Usually, students test better on one test or the other, so it may just be your fit.

Your 1930 is good as a total, but if you can raise the CR and M to the mid to late 600’s, I think you stand a better chance… that would at least give you a 2100… very competitive at NYU. The writing score is almost always weighed much less than the main two sections. Essentially, you need to show a better balance in your academics, like a 640 in E and a 660 in M.

What you may want:

SAT: 2000 +
ACT: 28 +

Your subject test scores are fine. It shows uniqueness and talent as a speaker of three languages.

If happy with your scores, apply ED II to increase your chances. If not, just do RD.

Best of luck with admissions!

thanks!

also do you think being an international student is taken into account as we do not study for the SAT?- all the studying I have done towards I have done by myself.

I’m retaking the SAT and hoping to do better. I know NYU says they superscore- but do they really??
