NYU Chance me

Hey! I’m currently in my third semester at a community college (accredited if that makes any difference) and am hoping to get into NYU. I’m applying early decision but will be needing a pretty substantial scholarship to be able to afford it.

I have a 4.0 GPA, am a part of the Scholars program (advanced classes), a member of Phi Theta Kappa, I’m an assistant supervisor for a childcare program, I mentor an 11 year old girl weekly, I volunteer with a political organization called Wolf-Pac, I own and operate an etsy shop, I do grant writing, I won the opportunity and grant to paint a mural, I have a pretty good (at least I think) art portfolio, and can write a killer essay.

Here’s the thing though. I’m at my third college. Straight out of high school I went to art school for a semester and then a different community college for a semester. My GPA at those schools wasn’t bad but I dropped several classes. However that was three years ago and I was dealing with a learning disability without assistance. My high school GPA was 3.2 unweighted 3.55 weighted (not great I know, this was also several years ago). I don’t remember my ACT scores but I won’t have to submit them. Also I took two math classes both below college level because of my poor math skills. I’m at college level now.

I haven’t decided my major.

Do I have a chance?
