@anonye which school did you apply for? I’m hoping (praying) that they just haven’t sent out the interest emails yet, as they are somewhat grouped by school.
@film2019 I’ve been waitlisted for film too. I haven’t received an interest email yet though, but I guess all we have to do is wait ugh.
@film2019 I received the interest email from Candice Maclusky and then, admission letter from NYU Admissions! My program is CS and YES, that’s how it looked like! No worries! and no need to worry about the tabs
CAN ANY ONE OF YOU HELP ME WITH THIS CASE PLEASE:
I got off the waitlist about 3 days ago, I got in NYU-Poly. But the thing is that my aid year in NYU Albert is still inactive, It says aid information has yet to be determined (Aid Year 2016 did not turn blue). I haven’t accepted my admission offer yet. I dont know what the problem is, i contacted the office of financial aid but i haven’t received any response yet. What does this mean? Aid year being inactive? Does this mean i didnt receive any financial aid/scholarship?
@ashl9890 thank you so much! Congrats on your acceptance. It seems no one from film received interest emails yet. How do the interest emails look like?
I haven’t heard either for film. Just recently received the same Abbot blog email many just got. Good luck!
@film2019 Your welcome! and I will PM you with the email that I received! @CollegeGuy007 Did you try calling the finance office?
I got an interest email a couple weeks ago for Tisch Recorded Music from Philip Hughes and i responded positively to it, but I still haven’t been offered an acceptance. Anyone else get an interest email but still haven’t heard anything?
Those of you who already put your deposit down for CAS - has course registration started? I know you can put down courses you’re thinking of taking until you meet your advisor (In June/July I presume), but what about time scheduling? If I want to take courses in the afternoon for instance, has that started yet?
@ashl9890 I got in about 4 days ago. Friday to sunday was off for the financial aid office. I’ll surely be calling them tomorrow. I was just curious to know that am i or am i not receiving some aid.
If i would’ve gotten aid it would’ve been available. If i wasnt awarded aid then they would’ve mentioned, but damn this is strange af.
@CollegeGuy007 Any updates?
How long did it take for you guys who deposited to get an email from NYU (about email and such) after you placed your deposit?
@somebody2015 It took about 8-9 hours! I deposited at night and when I woke up, the email was there!
Any updates from anyone?? I’ve been checking Twitter and the like but it seems like a bunch of summer program and graduate school acceptances. It’s been about a week since my Albert changed and nothing. Anxious.
@somebody2015 Bad news… We aren’t offered financial aid and are expected to pay full cost. I am so doomed, I cant afford that. And if i go for loans, i’ll be living the rest of my life under extremely high debt.
What’re your plans now?
Anyone else in the same or similar boat?
I got in, but because i got in off the waitlist and was an international student, i wasn’t awarded financial aid, despite of filing the CSS and stuff. Guys? If i manage to pay for my first year, can i apply for financial aid for my second year by filing a CSS Profile again? What are the chances of receiving some financial support from the university for the second year?
I have till 26th to either accept or decline my admission offer. Any suggestion/advice or piece of information would really be helpful at this time guys, should i or should i not take private loans, should i or should i not attend?
Thanks
@Jwhalen1112 Can you show a picture of how your portal has changed? I have not received anything new.
I put my deposit down on Monday and have yet to hear from NYU about anything email related. But I got this course registration link on my NYU Albert account (it doesn’t seem to actually let me register for any of them, it just lets me peruse the courses they have and their open/closed status). And financial aid has yet to be updated (however quite a few people on the NYU fb group are talking about being emailed about a financial aid change)
@CollegeGuy007 I’m really sorry to hear that and I hope you can figure something out by your deadline. Best of luck to you.
Well, I’m stupid. Apparently you can activate your email at https://start.nyu.edu (I already went there once, so I skipped that step in my admissions email instructions). However the username appears to be your netid? (Other colleges have let me choose mine)
Edit: Nevermind. You go to http://home.nyu.edu/, Preferences, and then edit personal address.
@CollegeGuy007 I’m sure you can apply for financial aid for second year if your grades are good! Also, you can apply for scholarships that are not affiliated with NYU!
