I agree with a previous poster that releasing on April 1 (after Ivy day) would be a bad idea for NYU
Help!! NYU is my absolute #1, what’re my chances of getting in?
GPA- 3.34 (I know it’s low, but I’ll explain later)
SAT- 2020
My GPA is so low because I had a really bad issue with depression my junior year and went from a 3.8 (UW) to a 3.34.
BUT… I have TONS of EC; select singing groups, president of Diversity coalition, plays and musicals, DECA
I also worked full time during my junior year.
And my senior year, I studied at a university full time as a dual enrollment student instead of attending actual HS.
I’ve also emailed professors at CAS and talked to them about my interest in the school and I visited the school in the fall.
Also, I wrote my essay about overcoming depression and finding myself. It was really unique.
@graceann I agree, it is a bad idea to release April 1st because then i have to wait longer xD
@Wscott23 Lol, that’s the only real reason.
I think I’m starting to doubt myself way too much as decisions come closer. Every time I read my why Nyu essay I end up unhappy with it
@Fatouuu and @graceann Thank you!
@Wscott23 and @mayamcg The Official Release Date they advertise is April 1 but it always ends up being earlier, usually on the last Friday of March. While there is not guarantee by any means it seems likely since that’s what they have always done and they finished making decisions in a similar timeframe as last year. They’ll post an update on the NYU Admissions Blog (http://admissionsblog.nyu.edu) the day before like last year I assume.
@alexxxcee omg are you stressing out here too (same)
Does NYU release Financial Aid along w decisions or does it come a few weeks after? (Hopefully before May 1st!)
@seeniebeenie I see my application status, but where does it say what program I’m being considered for? All i see is what they’ve received (test scores, transcript, and application fee)
@ccman153 would not bank on the earlier date if i were you. this year is unique from all the other years because of the new albert system. it is scheduled to release at a certain time and date - it does not matter when they finish up and finalize everything. if you check other threads, you’ll realize all the decisions came earlier than the expected date for ED 1, ED 2, and RD - EXCEPT for this year. this year, for both ED 1 and ED 2, decisions came out exactly at the specified time and date. additionally, i’d assume that NYU is well aware of ivy day.
expect an april 1st decision day so you don’t end up disappointed on march 25th if it doesn’t come. it’ll just increase your anticipation and stress! good luck
@sungjong I’m stressing out on the remaining ones lol I’m so done with bad news man lmao :(((
@alexxxcee Hah, same. This past week has been a bloodbath for decisions.
@Ajdhfh I know well like I keep telling myself " with bad news comes great news" lol!
@alexxxcee saME i’ve had a terrible week lmao but hopefully we’ll only hear good news from now on ;u;
@sungjong LMAO YES MINE WAS ALSO VERY TERRIBLE :’) Me and you are probably waiting on most of the same schools now too lol xD
Does anyone know the SAT average for CAS?
I have an error on the housing portal, it says “Invalid User.” Does that mean I’ve been rejected?
@world21 that is happening for me too…! hope it doesn’t mean anything bad…
It looks like the image below… Is everyone else facing similar problems?
