NYU Clubs/Student Organizations?

First-ever post, I hope I'm doing this right...

So basically... I've heard NYU has basic clubs and student organizations, e.g. Yearbook, Orchestra, School Newspaper, etc., but is it a diverse school when it comes to amount and importance of student organizations?

Going to a school with many diverse organizations that one can join even as a newbie (like if I'm new to, say, playing an instrument) to try new things is one of my criteria in choosing a college. I have a friend who took up fencing first year college and another who took up clarinet... would I be able to have this same opportunity if I chose to attend NYU?

I would really appreciate any advice you guys can give me to help with my college decision!

Yes, it is diverse in that regard. There are hundreds of student organizations, extracurricular and co-curricular societies, and clubs. Here I don’t know there are so many club music groups, for some reason a capella is hugely popular but I don’t know of anywhere you can join and get an instrument on loan. You can definitely buy/bring your own and join something already established or make your own with some friends, but it’s not like band in high school where the instruments were already there. There’s an incredible wealth of things to explore outside the classroom.
