Based on a question by ccbound11, I thought it would be helpful to have a thread specifically for those who are thinking of or will be commuting next year. I commend those of you who are trying to make a NYU education a reality while lightening the debt load by considering things such as LCT in the dorms and commuting (for those living within traveling distance from NYU). GL to you all. By the way, ccbound, I think the potential $11,000 to 16,000/ year savings as a commuter while obtaining that coveted Stern degree might be worth considering, so long as you know you do not have to be completely isolated as a commuter.

Hope the following info will be helpful to you and others in a similar situation. Take it for what it is, to help you in thinking through your decision.
