@misingthebeach yes I applied to stern
Accepted cas with $20,000 scholarship thanks to everyone
Deferred to regular decision…has anyone been deferred to ED 2? Was notified that 550 people were deferred in total. Would like to know what percentage eventually gets admitted…does anyone have stats on this from previous year. Congratulations to all that were admitted to NYU class of 2022!
I got rejected from stern… and im so confused. a guy in my school got in with no extras and lower stats than me…
@Frances007 if he/she tells them that they can’t go to Shanghai because the cost of living there is too high, NYU will probably laugh because he/she is trying to switch to NYC which is also one of the most expensive cities in the world lol.
Did anyone get the MLK scholarship?
@scaredaflol did that person apply to stern as well?
Which school did you applied to? @gudegude
@minhqpham what was you gpa sat?
@sak725 what was your gpa and stats?
@kmj1962 I got deferred to ED2 (though tbh I was half-expecting to be deferred even without the increased deferrals this year)
was accepted to steinhardt! had a 3.7 gpa and a 25 on the act…never took an AP or an honors in high school. did over 1500 hours of community service in high school and was apart of a 7 year community service program. had a ton of extracurriculars and i had a kick ass essay. idk how i got in tho!!! but i’m hella greatful!! congrats everyone
@GiannaC3 you are right. I did not think of that comparison (perception) although living cost here is actually not lower than NYC. I’ve stayed in two cities so got some feel. I think the best strategy to negotiate could be leveraging other options such as good scholarship from some parity schools such as NE.
Hi guys - need some inputs about LSP. I was not accepted into CAS, but into LSP. Any comments on that program? Any heads up?
Accepted into NYU Gallatin, and so beyond excited to live in NYC!!! Congrats to all and so excited to meet all of you!!
Hi everyone. My daughter was accepted ED1 yesterday. We are very happy but concerned about the lack of financial aid that she received. The package is all loans with the exception of a $14k scholarship. Does anyone have advice? Does the financial aid office ever work with you on the scholarship allocation amount? Congrats to everyone that was accepted.
@barkleywater What is your EFC? On average, NYU meets about 67% of need. So as an applicant, you should go into the process expecting to pay your EFC and that additional 30+% gap. If your package is much lower than that, I would certainly try to see why. NYU does reduce the gap if they really want you to attend, but generally that would already be reflected in their financial aid offer. You have the option of not attending if you can’t afford it, but unless there is an error, I would not expect NYU to offer much more.
I got accepted to Gallatin, surprisingly, but my FA says “Award access not available”. Does anyone else have this? I submited all my FA applications. I’m probably going to call Monday
Thank you. Our EFC was almost $15k per year. I will contact financial aid Monday and see if there is anything more that they could suggest. I had no idea what the norm was as far as my expectations, so thank you for the information.
@uskoolfish I did write back, but i didn’t tag you in the comment. I am new to this and apologize.
