*****NYU Early Decision 2 Class of 2020 Discussion*****

@classlena ugh now I’m nervous…

@classlena I clicked on it, but I didnt type anything in. Should I be worried?

nope! @scoobysnacks56 the worse case is when you actually start it

@alpha525 congrats! I’m not too sure on whether it guarantees admissions or not, and I’m really trying to keep myself from getting excited. However, according to past trends, this housing change pretty much equals admission

@classlena would you mind providing screenshots of their email?? That sounds so funny AHAAH yet super scary at the same time

@scoobysnacks56

" Thank you for contacting our office. We will go into your account and delete the housing application you started, as you are not yet a student and you are not supposed to start filling it up. Do not access the application until after you receive instructions from our office to apply if you are admitted."

for me this is the most serious email from all of those which i got from nyu hahahahahahahaa

@classlena HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHA

maybe it does not look THAT serious, but… just hahahahaha yass @scoobysnacks56

At the time ED1 housing changes appeared, it was the day before, so many people were on Albert and CC hoping for an early decision, which led to A LOT of people filling out housing applications before the actual decision, which led to the housing portal to lag and eventually get closed. Congratulations if the housing change means something this time around but don’t ruin it for others by getting it closed so far away from the deadline. :slight_smile:

lol watch them not give me housing because i started filling it out early

@alpha525 Lol they wouldn’t do that but it probably just floods their servers with unneeded stress, costing them money and time removing illegitimate applications.

I mean I didn’t submit it lol. That would be a big “I already know I got in so suck it” to NYU.

@alpha525 Congrats on the Housing change!

@NYUDreamer1 Thanks so much!

So is it okay to apply for housing even if there is no housing change?

@youngaa What would be the point of that…?

@youngaa No.

Yesterday was the deadline for the CSS NP Waiver Request form to be submitted. I submitted it about a week prior to the deadline and called today to ensure it was received by the financial aid office. Interestingly enough, my financial aid summary changed today as well. It went from indicating “CSS Noncustodial Profile: Requested” to saying “Noncustodial Waiver Granted”

Does that mean that my waiver has been granted because I have been accepted? I have dealt with other schools who say they don’t like to give a response about the waiver before the deadline because it means a student has been accepted. Has anyone else dealt with this issue? Does the new update on my financial aid to-do list indicated that my waiver has been granted bc I have been accepted, or could it just be a placeholder (it is the word granted that makes me think I have been accepted by NYU).

Thanks to anyone who has dealt with a similar issue.

Where do you find the housing link? Is it on NYU home or Albert somewhere?

Thanks.
