@pizzaandpeonies Your stats are pretty solid and you have a couple of very good EC’s. I think you have a good chance especially as you’ve received a housing change
@theniqqa23 I got the housing change and applied to CAS as a computer science major
Interesting, seems like a lot of CAS people got the change.
@booyakah i’m honestly so surprised it happened because i never thought it would. who knows lol i’m not going to get my hopes up
Does anyone possibly know the Silver School of Social Work’s admission rate in comparison to the other schools?
I Haven’t gotten the housing change yet, but im not expecting it because a) i applied to tisch and b) my stats are AWFUL lol (3.5 gpa with a 1560 on my sat)…
I applied to Stern for management and marketing. My primary campus choice was in NYC and my 2nd school choice was NYUSH @theniqqa23 @ZainSD
If you got into both would you still choose Stern?
Hey everyone I’m making a separate thread for this housing change problem, i hope you all find it useful!
It depends on how much Financial Aid I get from the schools lol @theniqqa23
Everytime someone gets the housing change and I don’t, I feel my stomach (and hopes) sink lower and lower. I realize that like 10 out of the thousands to apply is an awful statistic to go by, but I just wish I had some confirmation haha. Nothing like some good ol’ college confidential to give you anxiety.
@SquadGoals Ah I see. That’s a good decision.
@mbaker122 hey, no need to stress - there’s still a lot of time left until decisions and none of us truly know until then!
@pizzaandpeonies thanks for the encouragement! Always needed of course. The wait is certainly torturous, but congrats to you on your little hint from NYU – where are you from?
@mbaker122 no problem! i’m from good ol michigan
@SquadGoals @theniqqa23 You can only get accepted to one school. If you set Stern as your primary choice and they accept you, they won’t even consider you for SH, and since you did ED2, you’re forced to go. If and only if you get rejected from Stern, you will then be sent to the admissions board for NYUSH, where you will be separately evaluated. If you’re accepted there, it’s not binding. However, there is no way to compare FA packages because you will not be accepted by both.
Are you sure, I remember seeing someone being accepted to both before. My friend last year got accepted to NY and Abu Dabi as well.
Here on the NYU Shanghai site it also states that you can be admitted to multiple campuses… http://shanghai.nyu.edu/admissions/admitted-students/multiple
@theniqqa23 I believe you can be admitted to both for RD, but since your first choice is binding for ED, it’s impossible to be admitted to both, since your second choice is only valid if you are rejected from your first.
@adreamer22 you must understand that each separate campus in NYU’s Global Network judges each applicant separately. They don’t tell each other whether they admitted the student or not till the end of the process. So if both the NY and say Shanghai campus decided to accept an applicant, even if it was early decision, the applicant would have the choice to choose either one. The Early Decision agreement is only binding to the University itself, not the Campus. If you do however get rejected by your first campus, then the entire agreement is waived and you have 25 days to accept the offer from the 2nd campus of choice.
I know of people who have gotten accepted to both Early and on the websites it does state that it’s possible, even for Early Decision. However, most of the times you are either accepted to one or the other.
