*****NYU Early Decision 2 Class of 2020 Discussion*****

@emilyskates is it really? i thought it was later but i must’ve mixed it up with a different college. if it is the same deadline, then i definitely think it’s possible you got it. there’s a huuuge amount of applicants this year so i don’t think it’s a crazy notion that they’ve started looking at RD apps

QUESTION for anyone who hasn’t received the change: can you access the nyu bookstore?

This is weird. I can access the NYU bookstore. A couple of weeks ago I couldn’t get in. Don’t know if this means anything

I originally applied RD but managed to email/call NYU admissions and had them switch me to ED2 the day before the deadline. Do you guys think I could at all be put at a disadvantage because of this? No housing change so far.

@booyakah i don’t think i was able to access it before (i can access it now though) but i thought my memory was just being fuzzy, which is why i asked. interesting hmm

@pizzaandpeonies I definitely remember trying a couple of weeks ago to log into the bookstore only for the website to say “login failed” every single time. I wonder if anyone else can access the bookstore now.

i’ve had no trouble accessing bookstore so far. You might have done something wrong before cause I think I could access the bookstore right away with my login from the start.

@Q1234T If you look at past threads though (even the 2019 ED one) you can see that almost no one could login to the bookstore unless you went there for a summer precollege course.

@booyakah did you get a housing change?

Has there anyone who has got the housing change before and has gotten rejected?

@classlena Yeah I got a housing change on the 21st I think

could you give us, please, a link to login to this bookstore? i cannot find it anywhere @booyakah

@Q1234T I’m in the same boat as you, but I can’t imagine that it would affect your application in any way. I had originally submitted an app for RD at the end of November, but wanted to change once late December came around. I contacted an admissions representative asking about the switch, and all I had to do was send a paper saying I accept the binding agreement with signatures from myself, my parent, and my counselor. I sent a digital copy of the signed agreement a few days after the first of the year, as the admissions rep. said they would understand any delay as a result of the holiday vacation. Never received any further confirmation from them after declaring as an ED candidate, but I’m sure we’ll hear back at the same time as everyone else.

@emilyskates nope

@Q1234T @cidjje as long as whoever you contacted in admissions said the switch was fine, it will not affect your admission decision in any way

@kker98

ok

I know the date that they release the decisions is Feb 15 but seeing as last year they released the decisions on the 13th do you think it’ll be the same this year?

Which school did y’all apply to?

Can someone link the bookstore thing? I can’t find anywhere to log in with my NetID

Hey guys, is there any way I can change the priority of the schools I applied to. I thought I wanted to go to CAS, but I had a change of heart and feel like I belong at Stern. Do you think I can do anything now? Is it worth it to call admissions or even shoot an e-mail? I think I’ll get into CAS and if I do express interest in another school will that hurt my application. I got the housing change btw
