Hey everyone, I had a quick question on mid-year transcripts. I was wondering if they’re going to look at our mid-year grades. My first semester looks really good so I want to make sure they get looked at.
Also, in the NYU portal for anyone does it show that they have received your mid-year grades? Thanks.
@heman124
I doubt they’ll let you change schools…
@Ethanv13
You can check whether they received your midyear report on the CommonApp Recommenders section, it should say ‘downloaded’ if received!
If you submitted prior to around January 20th, I’d say they’d look at it an consider it with your admission. Double check to see if it was downloaded via the common app if you already submitted it. If you submit it right now, I think they will still probably take it into consideration if it is a significant change.
The best thing for you would be to get it submitted as quickly as possible.
Feel really awful… Our school used naviance but only mine was broken. Emailed my transcript to nyu before 1.1 and received their confirmation. Then they told me 3 days ago that they didn’t have my transcript…
I am just saying. Would mid year report not on profile be an disadvantage (if it’s already available)?
@collegesaywht123 congrats!! i was wondering if u can share ur stats with me please??
Haha, thanks
2070 SAT, 720 Physics, 740 Math. I’m an international student and we don’t have GPA but I’ve been in the top 1/8th this year.
ECs are good, not extraordinary. Pretty pleased with my essays, too.
What about you? @rithunna
I looked at the housing application and financial aid. No change to Financial Aid. However, I checked the housing link - there is a picture of NYC in middle and on top it says Fall in New York City and then below picture it says Freshman. Then it allows me to access application. This is the first time I am checking so I have no idea what it was before - does this mean I got in? Does everyone have access to the housing application whether they go in or not? Have you seen anyone have Freshman but not got in? I am ED2
@chloe123456 we aren’t sure if it guarantees acceptance, but there seemed to be a strong correlation last time. everyone has access to the app but not everyones says freshman. nobody has gotten it and not gotten in (from what we know from CC)
I wonder if any other U.S universities release potential hints of acceptance, or is it just NYU that does this?
i guess that only NYU is that sassy @booyakah
still i did not get any change and that just makes me feel so sad, because it seems like a majority of people already got that and eh, just okay, i know that i’m rejected… having hope hurts.
there might be a glitch because I read someone with RD got the change. Don’t know but will know soon enough - my school is professional studies. Seems like a great deal of people got the change - hopeful but little skeptical
@chloe123456 Yeah, I got the change and I applied RD. I also submitted my application SUPER late so I don’t know if this housing thing actually means anything.
The Housing change has been known for a while as an indicator for admission. Additionally, it doesn’t make sense for it to just be a change for everyone.
Also why would RD people be free from the change? They are reviewing RD apps right now, makes sense for it to change
they are reviewing RD apps now. it’s not like they just begin when ED 2 gets released - they have way too many applications to review.
There is definitely an overlap between RD and ED2 apps reviewed. 60k+ apps. Decisions go fast
@classlena don’t think you got rejected. it’s still superrr early! have faith
Don’t be sad… There are a bunch of people that don’t go on CC, and seriously if people don’t have the change they are not likely to post it. I think there are more people in ur situation
