*****NYU Early Decision 2 Class of 2020 Discussion*****

@pizzaandpeonies omg yeah maybe if we do get it we can snapchat him enough to make it to his story

I think i just got the housing change. First it says “There is no application for Spring 2016 available to you at this time.” under the first box to the left.

Then it says “Freshman” under the “Fall in New York City” box in the middle. It has a green access application button on the bottom of this box that brings me to this page where I assume I apply for housing.

Then it says “No terms for the specified date range.” in the box on the right.

This 100% means I’m in right?

@barcodeIlIl that’s the housing change  nobody knows 100% if that indicates acceptance until we get decisions but i think you may be able to translate that to good news ?? i think?

@barcodeIlIl p.s. i remember you from the u of m EA thread! lol we’re in this together

@pizzaandpeonies Yeah definitely. You got the housing change too? I feel so happy right now and from what I’ve read before(and what my friends at NYU right now tell me) this mean I’m in as in everyone who gets this gets admitted.

Umich and NYU are about equal in terms of which one I want to go to. If I applied RD to NYU and got into both I don’t know how I would be able to make a decision. Definitely think NYC is the better environment for me though.

On another note, can someone please tell me if in the past someone got rejected/deferred/waitlisted after getting the change to Freshman? Friends are telling me no, but I don’t know if I should be celebrating already.

@barcodeIlIl yes, i got the housing change! i prefer NYU in terms of environment and i think it’s the best place for what i want to do in the future. but going to u of m would definitely be easier on my family’s wallet because it’s in state LOL.

i’ve scoured the last ED thread for anyone that got the change and received bad news. i didn’t find anyone at all…so…

@pizzaandpeonies Congrats to you too! Yeah I agree. I applied to CAS econ so I definitely want to go into something business/law/politics/international relations related and NYC is better for that than Michigan.

So should we should stop worrying about admissions now right(since we’re in?)? Honestly I really want this whole college process off my shoulders already since its been weighing me down too heavily in terms of stress and my mood as of late.

@barcodeIlIl i’m too scared to come to any conclusions in fear of getting let down. what did your friends at NYU say about it specifically?

NYU never gives full aid, right?

@pizzaandpeonies Basically that this works and that everyone they saw who got freshman got admitted. People who didn’t get it got in too, but it didn’t work the other way around.

@collegesaywht123 NYU’s primary campus doesn’t usually give full aid, but the ones overseas (AD and SH) usually give generous amounts of aid, sometimes even full aid.

13 days!!

on the 15th, if I check my application letter and I got accepted, I swear to god I’m gonna end up crying of happiness. And then promptly playing Taylor swifts “welcome to New York”

are those who got in without getting housing change were the people who did not even apply for housing in NYU or they did, they didnt get a change and still got in? could you ask your friends about it please? that might solve some previous dilemmas in here. @barcodeIlIl

So how does the housing change work for LSP? Does anyone know?

the same way i guess @creed67

@dehca2016 me too!!

does nyu not give much aid?

@classlena Usually people who put NYU Shanghai or Abu Dhabi as their first choices don’t get housing changes because those campuses have a separate mechanism to register for housing.

@Lucas1998 Though NYU Generally did not give much aid in the past, they have tremendously improved their aid system and now give much more aid in general. However, the NY campus still doesn’t give a LOT of aid, but it’s not anything terribly bad. Their aid is decent, overall.

@Lucas1998 they’re pretty notorious for being kind of mediocre in terms of financial aid
