*****NYU Early Decision 2 Class of 2020 Discussion*****

Thanks!

Is there an RD discussion group?

Hey guys, I already asked some of you to chance me but I just got my senior year transcripts and would like a few more opinions.
I am applying for CAS or LSP
GPA: 3.835 (unweighted)
Class rank: 25/535 (5%)
Sat scores 1700 total (low I know)
Awards: AP Scholar
AP SCORES
English Lang- 4
Psychology- 5
U.S. History- 5
10 ap classes in total
Virtually all pre-ap before that
Extracurriculars:
Marching band for 3 years
National Honor Society
Church youth group
Volunteering in community: 50 or so hours
Leadership group for young men.
Essays:
I felt my common app essay was 8/10
My why NYU was 9/10
I’m just worried that my SAT score hurts me a lot but the rest of my stats are above par.
What do you guys think for my chances at CAS or LSP?

whats the housing portal link?

@Wscott23 your GPA is on par for CAS and LSP standards, but yeah, like you said, that SAT is lower than its average. but i wouldn’t let that discourage you, because NYU is very holistic and as long as you’re strong in other aspects, i don’t think they would reject you just because of an SAT score

@classlena error? it doesnt work

Wait I didn’t get the mobile app change. I also don’t have the students and applicants tabs.

If I was accepted, I really hope it was first choice.

I got the housing change last week and it said the spring application wasn’t available and that I was a freshman in NYC but I just checked it again today and the spring in NYC picture is back up and it says freshman and “application period closed” under it (still has the fall in NYC freshman picture under it). Has this happened to anyone else?

I really do hope that the housing change is for Stern (first choice) as well. @alpha525

@gettingintostern Yes, I received it, but only checked the day before the admissions decision deadline so I don’t know when.

For those applying to Stern, if you get rejected but offered a spot to your second choice (in my case CAS), would you take it? Also, does anyone know if it is hard to switch from CAS to Stern once in NYU?

@RSalvatierra I don’t know if I would take it, but from what I’ve read online, an internal transfer is very tough, but far from “near-impossible” like many claim for it to be. You just need to be determined to get good grades and take classes that are transferable to Stern, and get somewhat lucky, since a lot of people apply for internal transfer from CAS Econ to the 15-20 slots available at Stern.

With that being said, I reaaaally hope I do get into Stern (if I even get into NYU at all) instead of CAS. :-S Thanks! @adreamer22

@curiousminds01 I also got the housing change last week and now it has gone back to “non renewable undergraduate” so I’m super nervous

@RSalvatierra No, i wouldn’t go if not Stern. I got the housing change, but not the Albert change.

That worries me so much.

dang i’m scared now
