*****NYU Early Decision 2 Class of 2020 Discussion*****

@dehca2016

I’m about to go sleeping now, so goodnight people. I think that we have no idea why she/he has been previously rejected and there must have been a certain reason why he/she applied again. There were already a few people reapplying to NYU. Just deal with it and stop talking about this person. You’re going crazy. Why every single next post of yours is about him/her? I’m getting scared of you. Please ignore him/her and do your own thing here.

Personally I know a person who re-applied to NYU as well and was accepted during the second time. I don’t see anything bad in pursuing your highly-stated goals. The only thing that you do unneccesarily is ridiculing that person right in front of everybody here. Still, I didn’t see any request from anybody here asking you to do so. What is the point of your movements? Let him/her be passionate about NYU as much as she/he is. That is only a good thing. You’re doing very direspectful thing by talking about another person out loud in front of others here. This thread is not about that and you should leave it long time ago.

OH MY GOD. ugh every single time i update the CC comments there is always something about the ‘lack’ of housing change. no housing change ≠ rejection!!! its REALLY as simple as that. if you have received a change, GOOD FOR YOU, if you haven’t then NOTHING IS WRONG DON’T WORRY we’ll ALL know on 15th feb!!!

@classlena i know how stressed and frustrated you are, but i’ve even replied to a comment to you before on here telling you to NOT worry, and so do many others whenever you make a post about being nervous about not getting a post. EVERY TIME. But you seem to never fully grasp that and freak out again and again over the SAME thing-leading in redundancy and people getting annoyed. Honestly relax for the next week because there is NO POINT in being as anxious as you are right now. A lot of the times they just forget to update your portal to/it doesn’t show, I emailed someone from NYU because my transcripts weren’t showing as received and I got a message back saying that sometimes the updates don’t show immediately. So, i think you should watch a movie, read a book, make a bucket list, listen to cool new bands idk??? (these are things i do when im stressed) :slight_smile:

Can everyone only post here WHEN they get a housing change from now on and not when they HAVEN’T???

@trign0metry

preach.

does anyone know the acceptance rate for steinhardt, esp media culture and communications?

Lol theres been 3 people locked up in this chat

Hey, I don’t know if its always been there or not, but under my events I now have the opportunity to RSVP for an “NYU Eligibility Opportunity Interview” on the 17th. Has that always been there and does it mean anything?!

@stefankobk As someone who called out said individual I feel as though it’s necessary that someone take the time to clarify exactly why we are doing what we’re doing. In no way am I condoning the behavior of those telling aforementioned individual that they’re a waste of time, waste of space, have no chances or rights to have the pursuits/dreams that they do, and all other forms of ridicule per se.

This person, in their incessant state of worry has quite nearly clogged up the thread to the point that any form of productive discussion has become impossible. In tandem with said individuals worries about getting the housing change, they have gone so far as to make it seem as though those in the same boat ought to feel the same way - albeit unintentionally. While they have every right to worry, it is also important to be sensitive of the anxieties and feelings of others at the hands of their anxiety. Telling others that not getting the housing change is an almost certain indication of rejection (while this assertion has been repeatedly disproved), not once, not twice, but again and again and again, is certainly inappropriate.

Perhaps you’re thinking, “but they clearly and loudly stated that no one needed to listen.” Well, note to said individual: you, my fellow NYU affiliate, are currently on a public forum. You have said the same things so many times that it’s impossible not to listen.

Just as you @stefankobk valiantly defend this person’s right to voice their distress, I respectfully ask that you also take the time to observe the distress that said person has managed to impose upon others (even if you, yourself fail/cease to experience it).

@zora98 I have it too! I didn’t think I had it before. ( applied ED2 CAS, no housing change whatsoever )

@mang0esxx Steinhardt doesn’t release specific stats, as far as I know, only Stern does. If anyone gives you an exact number, they’re most definitely making an estimate. I have heard that the MCC acceptance rate is relatively high, though. Best of luck!

@iywang

I have no idea why you even @ me. I’m not even going to read your response since I’m not about to bother myself about the same topic over and over again and I geniunely just show no interest in your analogy. All of you are just making this issue be still alive. I don’t know it that’s the right thing to do. It’s up to you what for you spend your time writing here about. Don’t bother me with the issues of other users of CC, I’ll never understand why you just cannot focus at yourselves instead of making a deal over and over and over and over and over again. I’ve seen no controversial posts lately, so what do you people want? Just stop having a constant dilemma and it will solve your distress. How long can you deal with a closed issue? You can take a shovel and dig deeper in this topic if you literally have nothing to do here.

Could anybody please explain me what is the point in repeating yourself? How many people is still about to write the same thing to @classlena? That is a public thread, you have PM right just to do such things. @trign0metry

So there’s a bunch of people who didn’t get a change and that’s awesome. I’d rather have none instead of being worried what my change might mean.

Is the FA change thing already fixed since this year? I’ve seen nothing about it previously here I guess?

Okay everyone here in CC, let me ease your fears, tensions, and stress by saying this. College, no matter where you go, is a place to have new experiences, make lifelong friends/connections, and really find out a whole lot about who you are as a person. You will discover things you never knew about yourself before regardless of where you go. Whether you get into NYU or not, whether you have that housing change or not, whether you cry, laugh, or smile, you’re going to always continue working hard towards achieving your goal and becoming successful in life as time moves on.

All of you who are criticizing others for being too worried or paranoid need to let those people be themselves and simply comfort them. Criticizing them is only going to add to their worries and tensions. And those who fall into the category of individuals that are either too worried or too paranoid need to look at their goal/s in life and realize that NYU is not mandatory in order for them to achieve them. NYU may help you reach that goal; it may even help make the overall journey a lot easier. However, everyone needs to understand that there are other colleges that are just as prestigious and just as high in the quality of education that’ll help you reach your zenith and your true potential. In the end, it is you as a person who determines how successful you’ll be in the future. The college will not give you success, it will only encourage/facilitate it. You have to realize that it will ALWAYS BE YOU who puts in the hard work to get somewhere far in life. IF you don’t get into NYU, you may have to put in more work, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.You may even get into a better college (better varies in definition for everyone of course).

All in all, what I’m trying to say is that success will have no choice but to follow those who continue to put in hard work and demonstrate an extreme dedication/commitment towards their career/goals in general.

Lol this thread has become an absolute cesspool.

Pretty much 99% worrying about housing change, and 1% pure arguing smh.

@zora98 @BestRivenNA i have it too. don’t think it means anything though

I’ve just realised that there are plenty of great things that have been said here in last few hours that @dehca2016 might want to read and take to his own heart since the grid on his icon indicates that he was first in here to go definitely too far with the words that he’s been posting about some others. No more warnings for you dude.

I’m logging myself out of here just until there’ll be 10 minutes left to decisions. I noticed that people who aren’t here feel mentally better. Good luck ppl and see you in a week!!!

:smiley:

@stefankobk why are you STILL posting about this? let it go dear god

@iywang Ahhh, I screwed up with my grades so I’m worrying haha. Thank you though and congrats on Stern. Hopefully, we’ll be seeing each other next year!
