*****NYU Early Decision 2 Class of 2020 Discussion*****

What in gods name is going on? I’m honestly so confused at this point.

@myungbi I still have freshman. Why are we just different from others…

well this isn’t looking good ahahah

@curiousminds01 I have freshman under both spring and fall. I have 2360 and applied to Stern. No joking, I still have Freshman on my housing page.

@curiousminds01 @myungbi where are you guys from? I’m from New York. Does location matter?

did you have spring and fall before

@pizzaandpeonies Like other people have said, I don’t believe we all got rejected. If freshman under spring and fall indicated acceptance and everything else indicated rejection, then only 4-5 on this whole thread would be accepted. We’ll see what this all means after the actual decisions come out, but for now there isn’t much to say unless something suddenly happens again.

@gettingintostern I’m from NJ

Mine still says ‘Freshman’

@barcodeIlIl definitely true. that would be very weird, because typically on CC there are way more acceptances than what this is proving

for both spring and fall?

@collegesaywht123 Are you the one who had Brooklyn instead of NYC?

Something came up to top of my head.
i just want to eliminate a possibility.
I once thought if house change meant that they started or currently reviewing your application. But i can disprove it because a few of my friends had no house change up till yesterday. (low stats)

Thus house status changes for a reason; it must not be system errors, i believe
Furthermore, today’s the day when they ended selection process.
Suddenly a few of us with decent chance to get it lost our house change?
Apparently it is not coincidence.

Let’s wait and see

For those who want my stats:

Gender: Female
Race: Asian
GPA: Weighted 5.88/7
SAT: 2040 (670 math, 680 CR, 690 writing)
Subject Tests: Bio M-740 Chem-700
Courseload: All honors except for English. Took AP Chem, Bio, Psych, French 4 and French 5, Econ (both Macro and Micro), Calc.
Class Rank: 95/532
Essays: 10/10 (I tried really really hard on these, and I genuinely believe I wrote my best essays for NYU).

Notable ECs: Chinese Student Association (Secretary), Vietnamese Culture Club (President), Multicultural Day Committee, Internship at Summerbridge Hong Kong (I taught tuition-free English Biochemistry classes to improve the education trajectories of underprivileged children in Hong Kong), Dance (Chinese Fusion)
Recs: Anywhere from 9/10 - 10/10 (I sent in two teacher recs, one teacher had me for 3 years and the other had me for 2. Both of which know me super well and have seen me grow, both academically and personally, over the years. I also am super close with my guidance counselor, and I sent in an extra rec from my Dean of Faculty from my internship in Hong Kong.)
Hooks: First Gen College, Dad is a high school dropout (he dropped out in his freshman year), Mom never went to college.

Also, @gettingintostern, @curiousminds01 I’m from NJ.

Second Edit (sorry!): Applied to CAS for Biochemistry, Pre-Med track

Yes @renegade23

@myungbi

You applied to CAS?

@Chalamagne916 so do you think the people that had freshman but now non renewable - have a chance of getting in?

this is actually the most stressful thing possible lol. tbh, i really don’t think nyu rejected the people who’s housing change went back to ‘non-renewable undergrad’ tho.
i highly doubt the nyu admissions team is sitting around on a round table reading our comments on a gigantic projector (if u are then we love u pls take us) and then fixed it.
that being said, cc is pretty notorious with nyu so (http://nyulocal.com/ on-campus/2014/12/12/breaking-down-college-confidential/)

this time next week, we’ll all either be excited for our lives at nyu or try to mention it as little as possible. after roughly three months of extreme obsession, it’s a little weird to think about hahaha

@dehca2016 Yep! Sorry, I edited my previous post so it shows now.

@clkodu98739 i do think so.
I hold that those who had house change are still “accepted” although there seem to be some regulation/fix on the housing page.
@trign0metry LOL, i really laughed. We shall feel shamed when we do really get in NYU, worrying about something trivial like this(maybe a joke they are playing with us

Again, house status not changed randomly due to system errors, but for a reason.
