NYU Early Decision

I'm currently a high school junior and I know that NYU will be my first-choice school. I am wondering if it is any easier to get accepted to NYU through their Early Decision program than it is through their regular freshman admissions period, especially in terms of a student's GPA and SAT scores.

Thanks,
MJ

yes (10 char.)

Wow, a reply within 5 minutes. I like these boards already.

I guess I should have asked, additionally, how significant is the difference? Could you please be a little bit more specific?

Collegeboard.com says NYU's overall acceptance rate is 36%. It also has the ED statistics.

Number of early decision applications received: 3,397

Number admitted under early decision plan: 1,131

The ED decisions equal about 33% acceptance through the ED plan. Anyone know why this is?

My guess is that the ED applicants are sup-bar and hoping the ED option will help them get in. I think that, in any case, applying ED increases your chances.
