Hey guys,

Anybody apply EDII to Gallatin? 5 days… UUUUUGH!

Hey guys,

Anybody apply EDII to Gallatin? 5 days… UUUUUGH!

ED2 for Stern over here…very nervous :(.

Tiiiiissschhhhhhh Photography

Applied for LSP, expecting a rejection .
ah 5 days!

@wildox, why expecting a rejection? don’t say that but if it makes you feel any better… i am, too. hahahahha who am i to talk

God, I got differed yesterday from a school I was almost certain I would gt into… so not expecting too much from Stern on Wednesday but I’ll just have to wait and see.

@kylash, it’s okay. have hope! Was the school that differed you Hamilton?

@footnotes, my GPA for 9th and 10th grade was really low and after 10th grade I moved schools where I am doing way better, but there is no GPA here only IB predicted grades, so I am unsure how my GPA is going to look and be read, if they only see the 9th and 10th grade gpa i have no chance :(

gah four days, I’m freaking out!

@kylash, if it was hamilton that did defer you, no worries. they’re having a really bad year… they had like 1,000 more applicants than typical. so you’ll be fine for stern as long as you sent in some math SATIIs that are 750+. And even so, Stern is extremely difficult to get in to (2nd best business school in the country)… if worst comes to worst, you’ll be deferred to LSP and then can transfer.

@wildox, me too. i ****ed up my freshman and sophomore year but apparently NYU doesn’t really look into 9th/10th grade but really put emphasis on 11th and 12th. So as long as you’re showing huge improvement, you should be fine.

@footnotes, ah that is good to know, though still not to optimistic about my chances,

gah 3 days, I can’t believe it!

@footnotes, is that really true about how how NYU looks more at your 11th and 12th grade grades? i’m kinda in the same boat as you. i had a pretty crappy 10th grade year lol

does anyone know how competitive admission into the CAS for EDII is? i’m getting really nervous :S

@roguewave, yes this is true. they want to see some sort of fluctuation from 9-12th grade hopefully in a pattern that moves upwards rather than downwards.

CAS this year for EDI was really competitive and very difficult to get into. Someone who I expected to get in with a 3.6 GPA and a 32 on his ACT got flat out rejected from CAS. I also go to one of the toughest schools in the country and everybody here at my school was shocked.

Competition is great for NYU =/ They get something like 45000 applicants and 4700 seats for the class of 2016.

If it all makes you feel any better, CAS accepts the most students and has the largest freshman class of all the NYU schools.

I applied to Gallatin which only accepts 250-300 students in total CAS accepts something like 1,000

Remember they’ve got to leave some space for RD students- the acceptance rate needs to remain about the same with a +/- 1% difference… If not, NYU will prove that ED students get a clear advantage.

Hope this helps!

Good luck to eveeeeryone, 3 days.

Hey everyone! I’m getting really nervous about upcoming ED II decisions and I was wondering if you all could give me some insight as to whether or not you think I will get in! I applied to the Preston Robert Tisch Center for Sports Management and from freshman to junior year my GPA was 3.5. My ACT score was a 30 and my GPA from last semester was 4.14 because of AP classes and all. I have taken 3 AP classes and I also have been a class officer for two years (class secretary) along with being involved in three other clubs and one other service club! I played sports all throughout high school as well. What do you all think? Thanks so much :)

My school didn’t release the mid-year transcripts yet so NYU won’t have them anytime soon. I emailed them about this and they haven’t responded. Stupid me. I guess I’ll be rejected.

@Rain202

NYU only requires your mid year transcripts by March 1st. If you have applied, ED II, they won’t be looked at.

I can’t see how this will single handedly get you rejected, unless your mid year report really helped boost your GPA?

Whatever it may be, I wish everyone the best of luck on their decisions this Wednesday!

@footnotes Hey thanks for the confidence boost! Ya I’ve been deferred from three schools so far (accepted by my safety) but I"m hoping for good news on Wednesday!

Two more days!

NYU will be the first school I hear from. Stressing enough.
Although I have very high hopes, I force myself to not expect too much… Which is hard to do for my first-choice university :|

I applied to CAS!

Fingers crossed for everyone! Anyone apply to the prestigious studio art program?

Good luck to all! we have 2 more days until we hear from NYU ): and are they still doing what they did for ED1? reject mail in the morning and acceptance letters in the afternoon? any1 apply to neural science CAS?

Hi guys! Just joined… I applied to Global Liberal Studies and am SO nervous! Except I’m trying to prepare myself for rejection. :-/ And I’ll be snowshoeing with my school when the emails come out Wednesday.

Anyway, best of luck to everyone! It’s so cool hearing all your interests and I would be excited to go to school with each of you. :)
