NYU ED 2 Official Thread

has everyones transcript been checked off?? Mine hasn’t…

good luck everyone!

All my boxes have been checked off, i think it should be fine though they probably haven’t updated the website.
8 days left

also for anyone who is interested ED1 had around 3000 applicants, meaning our pool is around 2700. The things you do when waiting for decisions…

That means we slightly have less competition… Well, that won’t make any difference anyway. Do you think the admission rate is gonna be around 39% (like in 2010)?

All my boxes have been checked off last Saturday too. I hate it that my application will be on the last pile for the officers to review.

A total of 6485 students applied ed 1 and 2. and if ed1 got 3000 that means ed2 got 3485… we have more competition than ed1

Actually the exact numbers were 2,968 ED One applicants out of 5,691 ED applicants who indicated the New York campus as their primary campus of selection. I didn’t include people who only applied to NYUAD.

wildox- nice. I guess ed2 has a little less competition than ed 1. We’ll see how that plays out next week.

Do you guys know the acceptance rate for ed1 this year? is it true that they accept less people in ed two round than ed1?

When we receive our decisions, who is making the Accepted/Rejected Thread? Or are we going to post here? I’m so excited only 8 more days!

haha yeah, really have spent too much time worrying about this. Also NYU released the exact numbers
“For the first time this year, NYU offered two Early Decision programs – Early Decision I (deadline: Nov. 1) and Early Decision II (deadline: Jan. 1). There were 2,968 ED I applicants (214 for NYU Abu Dhabi and 2,754 for NYU in New York), and 3,130 ED II applicants (365 for NYU Abu Dhabi and 2,765 for NYU’s New York campus)”

Our pool is actually larger by 11 kids, I realized the ED 1 number included AD.

Actually 2010 was the first time two EDs were offered-Class of 2015

This is the second year-Class of 2016

Read the info on the following link to get 2011-12 application stats.

Oh, I was reading the last year ones, god, I am so out of it when it comes to unis haha,

however on the Steinhart site it said that they had sent out around 3000 ED I decisions, since 5,691 - approx 3000 is around 2600 meaning our pool is around the same size or a bit smaller.
Not that any of this is useful in anyway, just interesting.

so no one else has not had all there boxes on Albert checked off??!

Apple, you should call.

Bigapple, have your NYU ID handy and call admissions. I called yesterday. Just one of my boxes had checked off, the call took less than 10 minutes and they said they had all of my materials.

Wow… NYU has alwaysss been my top choice…:frowning: I feel like next week I’m gonna cry soo much.

@NewYork, I’m expecting they’ll be tears of joy!

When are we getting our decision? and at what time?

Cugaaaaaaaz: February 15th. Rejections are out in the morning, and it seems that acceptance emails go out around noon.

good luck to everyone who applied ed 2!
i remember when i had to wait for ed 1…every second felt like an hour!

ed 1: rejections came out very early; acceptances started rolling in around 3pm. decisions seemed to be emailed out in alphabetical order.

I’ve posted something like this way back for ED1. You’ll all find your place, be it NYU or not. Trust me, I was super obsessed with the whole college thing too. Just a few months ago, I was posting three chance threads a day in every forum. I was obsessed, and the stress was killing me. I’m not saying this from a third party point of view, as I am also an ED2 applicant to Stern. Listen: everyone here is talented and has the ability to succeed. I am not expecting acceptance with a 3.4/2100, as it should be. Everyone has hobbies and extracurriculars that make us unique; for me it is my software and investment corporation. I find that spending time on these things helps tremendously. I’m not worried anymore. For me, everything happens for a reason. If I get into Stern - great - if not - it was the way it was to be. There is no need fretting over it.

Again, you guys are all truly intelligent people and I wish you all the best of luck on the 15th. I’ll be checking to see my decision, but calmly, the way it should be! Enjoy your senior year!

Thanks for your words sarora; although NYU has been my top choice for many years now, I’ve begun to accept that I will most likely be rejected. I’m praying for the best, but preparing for the worst.
