@asaprorita as long as you conveyed to NYU that you have something special to bring to their school! it’s not always about stats, which plays in our favor as multifaceted adolescents lol
Do y’all think that applying from a state like mississippi is a plus? the percentile of students that go out of state from ms is 3%, and the only people that applied ED to nyu are 2 people and i haven’t heard from anywhere else that people applied ED to nyu
ive only applied to safe schools so far as a back up. my major music business is really hard to find. thats nyu is my top choice, cause they have music business and a great program for it at the clive davis institute.
honestly, it seems like everyone here is a really hard worker. it doesnt matter if nyu accepts you or not, our future will still be great regardless of the college we go too! thats what really matters!

Overall Admission Rate 35% of 50,804 applicants were admitted
Early Decision Admission Rate 32% of 7016 applicants were admitted
The Early Decision rate is a little lower but when you see the difference in the number of students applying with each admissions plan it is drastic. This doesn’t guarantee anything but I do believe applying Early Decision is the best choice if you really want to go to NYU. Relax everyone! Two days! [-O<
does anyone know if for tisch they even look at your academics if you’re not flagged by them? i think i read somewhere they don’t even look at the rest of your app if they aren’t interested in you artistically. i applied for drama and i’m getting worried because i felt like i had strong academics to back me up but hearing that makes me really anxious
@maltman what we were told was that it is 50/50. So you need both good academics and a good artistic review. You dont need top drawer academic stats but if your academics were weak that would be a problem.
@harvester both people I know who got in from my school were great artistically but not-so-great academically to say the least… so i really do wonder how much weight they actually put into academics compared to what they say.
@maltman yes, it is hard to know myth from reality. I would think at a minimum if, for example, two people are equal artistically, that better academics would sway the decision to one candidate vs. the other.;

Ok on my housing portal there is a NYU email address for me that wasn’t on there before. They also changed my name from my full name, middle included, to just my first and last and added my birthday. When I went on the website for admitted students it said after you accept your admission you will be given a NYU email address. Is this a good sign?
hey so i just got a personal email regarding my financial aid, it was a check up to the email that most people got last week about the office not receiving people’s FAFSA. did anyone get a similar email? the person who replied to me said how they received my FAFSA and i can ignore any more reminders
@nafphoto no way of telling. I would stop worrying about “system glitches” that have never been confirmed before and just wait.

@seeniebeenie they allow u to use your spring swipes if you stay for the winter session. He has all access meal plan so that will not be a problem for him…
