Does selecting EDI give me a higher chance of being accepted to NYU?
I'm still a junior and I'm quite certain that NYU's my first choice. I haven't taken the SAT yet but based on my practice tests the average score is 2200.

Would it be better for me to take advantage of Early Action for other schools and use ED II for NYU instead?

Are you quite certain you can pay for it? Have you talked with your parents? NYU is incredibly expensive and notoriously stingy on financial aid and scholarships.

Fortunately, I come from a family that can afford enough money for me to attend expensive colleges. As of now, I don’t plan to apply for any financial aid or scholarships.

I do not understand your question. If NYU is clearly your first choice why would you apply to a different school EDI and apply to NYU EDII if you did not get into the EDI school? Why wouldn’t you switch the order?

I’m not planning to apply to a different school using EDI because NYU’s obviously my first choice. My question was, should I apply to schools that use Early ACTION (single choice) then apply to NYU ED II or just use EDI for NYU?
Sorry for any confusion.

If you’d rather attend one of the SCEA schools (HYPS) then I don’t see why not. However, if you’re not a strong applicant to those schools, you might be better suited to apply ea to 2-3 schools (including a safety) just in case you get rejected from NYU EDII.

And no, there is no difference between EDI and EDII besides the application dates.
