@dd8868 LMAO you’re straight cappin
Don’t worry, I reported him and he wil be gone for spreading false information. Good luck to all of you!
@socaldad2002 cheers for that! I couldn’t sleep for 45 minutes because of that clown lol.
@socaldad2002 yeah thanks! I was about to start crying my nerves are shot. Just lurking to see if any date has been announced other than the 15th but keep on getting pulled in ?
Think i missed some post which sent people into a panic so it might help if I explain why portal changes can’t have any real effect on admission:
When you apply to NYU you are given a temporary ID which indicates you are an applicant, so you have access to NYU systems, but with applicant status. This means you can view things like housing and Albert, but most of what you see is extremely limited. Your view changes once YOU accept admission. When NYU grants you a place and you hit accept, your ID is changed from applicant to student ID. Before this, you won’t have real access to housing, class registration, etc, because you are not a student in the system.
Remember there are two steps to admissions, the school accepting you, and you accepting them. NYU doesn’t grant you access because they accepted you, they grant it when you accept them (consenting relationships, you see).
Yes in the past there has been correlation but there also has been correlation between every possible combo of admission/housing portal. Remember there are 6k+ applicants for ED1 and only about 20-30 of them share their portal change and acceptance results on this thread.
There is a seemingly much greater frequency of people having portal changes + getting in because people come to the thread to report changes, and return if they are admitted to share the good news.
The reality is a lot of people don’t return to a thread if they’re rejected, just to report that they won’t be going to their dream school → that’s more likely to end up on the finsta
“End up on the finsta” I love that lol. I also think it’s unhealthy to rely on what people are posting in this chat because it will stress you out more than you already are. Just believe in yourself and realize that if NYU rejects you, do not take it personally; you are competing among a very competitive pool of applicants. Good luck everyone! Proud of you all!
Right. Just like Boston Uni this year, comes with silence and announces its decision. Creazy.
@Squilkey you are awesome and cool.
Hey!!
Did someone apply to Stern ED1?
anybody have updates or new info on decision releases?
Hi, I applied to stern ed1.
This year is gonna be super competitive. I’m an international student and a lot of my peers are applying to NYU ED 1 and 2. Literally, A LOT. NYU’s ED 1 acceptance rate was super high ( 2 out of 3 students from my school got in last year) last year, so more mediocre students are trying to apply this year. Feeling stress right now, and I don’t know what will happen if I am rejected because my GPA sucks in Grade 12. My teachers this term are strict with the scores, and I ended up having a 76 in English and 72 in AP Psychology. My school is a Canadian off-shore high school, and they really don’t care about the students who are trying to apply to universities in the US. A 4/6(=66.7%) essay was all you could get from an English exam. We neither had multiple choice questions for AP psychology exam. So funny. Oh, plus, at the beginning of last semester my film&media teacher claimed that her course would be a GPA booster, then no one in my class even got a 90 ( last year when another teacher was teaching, most students got over 90). An 85 was my reward for going to bed at 4 am, helping my teammates editing our video project.
Preparing for applying to a community college right now. Or save me, NYU.
@unibound313 I applied to Stern as well!
@CaMom13 glad you keep stressing that because my little heart aches everytime we see “Summer” only with all these post of others seeing future registration. Financial aid no changes either. She just has a fully list of all that has been received.
@CaMom13 Did your D apply ED? Did you guys get results on a weekday or weekend? Just wondering if tomorrow is our day of relief or prob actually on Sunday. I really appreciate your comments. I can’t speak for anyone else, but it’s sincerely helping me alot. As the mom, we have no control, but to be ready to support regardless to how this turns out. My D is a dancer and not into forums so I am super happy she is totally away from the ups and downs of all these comments.
@SSOB01 Hi, you mentioned about the mediocre students. Could you give me a rough idea of how their standardized test look like? I am wondering if I am one of them LOL.
I got a 94 on my TOEFL but i didnt submit it since i was unhappy with it and then NYU sent me an email telling me to take the Duolingo test. I got around 107 (in TOEFL points). Is this good or bad??
Are ED decisions going to be released today?
@SSOB01 哇塞那这个分数可以了啊,那你们学校成绩都很高啊。。。我看到的申请NYU的基本都是这个分数啊,这样算下来有点心态崩了hhhh
