Hey Guys I’m new too the Thread… and CC XD
Soo yea I’m applying ED1 to NYU as Well… Do you guys think the fact that I took 2 summer courses at NYU as well as a Pass/fail course, and received A’s in both classes and passed the pass/fail course will help my chances at all?

We only need one teacher rec and one counselor rec right?

@nyu427 yes. But I’ve emailed my regional counselor and he said they will accept 2 teacher recs and one counselor rec as well.

They will only accept 2 teacher recs and 1 counselor rec!!! I was gonna submit 1 counselor, 1 teacher from my highschool, and 2 recs from my professors from the courses I took at NYU… is that too much!!!

i’m applying ED1 as well!! so nerve-wracking good luck to everyone, though!

I’m also pretty sure I’m going to have great teacher recommendations since I asked teachers who really love me to write them. I haven’t started my NYU supplement essays yet, but I think my common app essay is strong! (I have to get it reviewed by my guidance counselor/English teacher, though)

thanks so much!!

@dwarnock95 Yes, that is too much. They will only read up to 3 recs in total, one of which must be from your teacher, one from your counselor, and then another.

Just submitted my application yesterday! The waiting game begins…

ok well I’ll just submit all 4… worst case scenario they only read 3 of the 4

Ok so I submitted my application, and forgot to include my mom’s maiden name under the section that asks for former last name. Does anyone know if this is going to be a problem???

So we are REQUIRED to have a counselor’s rec as well? x_x I am planning on asking two teachers already, and thought that a counselor’s rec was just optional.

I still have to take the October SAT before submitting my application… cannot handle all this stress right now!

It might be optional, but I thought they wanted one from an administrator if a counselor wasn’t available. I know they will accept up to 3. No more than that.

Anyone know about forgetting to put my mother’s former last name on the common app???

@HelloParis… I don’t think you have to wait until the results of the October SAT to submit your application. I think you can submit it when you’re done and then submit the scores when you have them… I might be wrong but I don’t think everything has to be submitted at the same time… as long as everything is in by November 1st I think you should be ok.

@helloparis will your scores for the Oct SAT be available in time? I went to an information session recently and was told that the scores would not be able to be processed, sent, and put on file to meet the Nov. 1 deadline if you took the Oct test. Might want to double check on that, but that’s what I was told.

Still, anyone have an answer to my question? I’m beginning to panic.

@Correkid I have no idea. Usually, it takes around three weeks for a SAT score to be released. The date of my test is Oct 6th, so I am predicting that it will be out by Saturday, October 27th. Maybe I will look further into what @dwarnock95 said and see if I can submit the SAT separately when I have the score, but have the rest of my application done.

And I think you are fine without your mother’s maiden name. I don’t think it is THAT important into deciding whether you get accepted or not.

i am sending my letter of recs via mail from my teahcers…what is the address i send them to?

If you go to the collegeboard web site you will see that The 10/6 test scores are released on 10/25. That is when they are electronically sent to the school(s) of your choice s long as you selected them in advance.

@aanderson67 Wow, thank-you! Very helpful. I’ll have to remember to have CB send my SAT score electronically to my school(s).

anyone out there who is in the IB program and applying ED?

Hi!
I was wondering if i need AP CALC in senior ? please i really need to know this?
