this is definitely me thinking way too much into things, but, at the bottom of the financial aid thing for those of us who have something, it says “Select the appropriate aid year above to view your award information. If the aid year is not activated, your award information has yet to be determined.” so i WOULD assume that that means that if you have an aid year, you’re getting financial aid and you just can’t see it yet, which would then mean you got in to NYU. …BUT, I didn’t apply for any and I’m seeing that, which is why I think I’ve decided that it means nothing.

Back to the LSP thing, has anyone applying to Steinhardt had their major changed to LSP on Albert? It seems like its all CAS kids so far. Seems like a good sign to me if it changed.

if i did not apply for financial aid, but got the “no self service thing” for 2014, is that a good sign? i’m so confused :(

@leggggy…even though you did not apply for fin aid, maybe you qualify for a scholarship, which would probably show under this section?

@correkid…my screen only shows “2014” as well. i asked someone who goes to nyu what her opinion was, and she said this means the 2013-2014 school year. i just hope she is right. as for getting aid from LSP, i dont see why not…LSP is listed as one of the programs under arts and sciences, so i cant see them treating it any differently from the other schools/programs.

yes, my only concern though is that some people have both 2013 and 2014. and the 2013 says something different than the 2014

@nyu2017 that would make sense but im 99.9% sure i didn’t get a scholarship. i’m not that great hahahaha.
@correkid yeah the 2013 year thing makes me nervous too.

@Correkid My FA page only has 2013 on it.

My page still hasn’t changed (:() but on the bottom it says select year blah blah blah. I did apply for financial aid. I hope this doesn’t mean anything

Can someone answer me? If I didn’t apply for financial aid and I have the no service thing for 2014 is that a good or bad thing?

@leggggy well this is my opinion: regardless of whether or not you get FA, every NYU student needs to have the 2013 or 2014 thing written on their financial aid section to let them know they didn’t get any financial aid… does that make sense?

So, it might end up saying “2014 - No Financial Aid awarded”

or maybe it’ll end up saying “2014 - Financial Aid awarded”…

regardless, the point is that there’s a 2014, which implies you’re going to be at
NYU for the 2014 school year.

I’m just speculating of course, but even if you don’t get FA, you’re deff going to get
a “2014” or “2013” section eventually if you’re accepted, even if you don’t have one
at this moment. NYU needs to let everyone know what they think you’re paying, that way you can be on the same page as they are!

I think everyone’s FA page will eventually change to the “self service” or the “award” message by the 18th. When people first reported changes to their FA page starting a couple of days ago, I was alarmed too because mine still had the “There is no FA to display”. However, soon after, my FA page changed as well. Maybe they are changing the FA page in order of your location (like some suggested earlier) or maybe it’s by alphabetical last name. I don’t think it’s supposed to change for only a select group, it should make sense to happen to everyone at least by next week.

UPDATE: Just checked Albert and my FA year changed to 2014! It was 2013 just yesterday. Strange.

Do you think it might have to do with when you filed the CSS profile?

I was searching “NYU” through Twitter and saw that a girl JUST got accepted into NYU today. At first I thought maybe she was going for graduate school so the notification dates would be different, but then I saw another girl tweet to her “Happy 18th birthday” so she’s either a senior like us, or she may be a transfer.

Or maybe NYU stands for another school?

@helloparis all of our stuff changed at the same type since we posted about it right when we saw it. I’m from Illinois, so if you’re anywhere near there maybe it is being done by geographical location.

@Correkid I’m from Southern California, so maybe it isn’t determined by geographical location.

@HelloParis I came across the post too. Now I’m just majorly scared. My financial aid page still hasn’t been updated with anything (" There is no financial aid information found") and I live in Pennsylvania. So… I’m majorly confused. I applied to Stern BPE and regular Stern Business, by the way.

@vyperr Your stat is so awesome that I don’t think you will not be accepted. Since your page didn’t change either, I’ll not lose my hope. =)

@HelloParis i think the girl on twitter may have gotten a running scholarship… that’s what it seems to be

So I’m assuming that people who applied to stern did not get their FA pages changed…
