NYU ED1 Class of 2017 Discussion Thread

During the RD round last year, the notification was available in Albert about 50 minutes before any email went out. (Just checked the time stamp on the emails so I’m not pulling it randomly out of the air.) I do not believe that rejections came first. To my knowledge they came together.

are rejections posted on albert or does albert just post indications of acceptances?

Sorry legggy I don’t know the answer to that question since I only saw an acceptance. My best guess is that any outcome (including deferrals or waitlist) would be reflected in Albert but that would only be a guess. Good luck!

Where are you guys seeing that it changed from CAS (or other) to LSP? Does it possibly mean that if it didn’t change it means they aren’t considering you for LSP because you got into CAS (or other)?

@inripley…on your application, did you answer “yes or no” under, if we cannot offer you admission to your school of choice, would you consider another school? cos if you said “yes” then maybe they are offering you gallatin instead of recorded music? did you get a video chat with recorded music?

@la2ny0515…go to your Albert screen and there is a tab listed, “Application Status” click that, and you will see your status. the program/description box is where you would see what you are applying to. some have seen their programs change and some have not. but we cant seem to confirm if the change means anything!

@la2ny0515 Since admissions can’t straight-out give us any answers, there’s really no basis on whether or not the subtle changes in Albert mean anything. That said, there were a number of people last year who had zero change on their Albert side (i.e. stayed as CAS) but were rejected. So there’s really nothing to be sure about until Tuesday 5 p.m.

Guys I have a countdown and this is just not healthy.

[Countdown to Dec 18, 2012 5:00 PM in New York](<a href=“Time since Dec 18, 2012 5:00 pm started in New York”>Time since Dec 18, 2012 5:00 pm started in New York)

I find out about UMich tomorrow which is my top choice if NYU fails me :(( so nervous

@littlemeow Best of luck!!! :)

For those applying to Tisch Drama, is your Audition box checked in your application status? My D’s is still not checked. I’m nervous that this may be a bad sign.

@researchmaven, I’ll help you out with that one. My daughter’s audition box never got checked last year at all. She’s a freshman in Tisch Drama right now. Don’t sweat it.

@eabv035 thanks so much!! :)

@researchmaven I’m applying to Tisch for photo/imaging… I called admissions and they said that if you’re applying to Tisch, that check box almost never gets checked… My portfolio box isn’t checked either. It doesn’t mean anything, no worries!!!

Thanks so much @halflokum and @ohdogg. One less thing to worry about. Good luck everyone.

@nyu2017 i did check the box, but i thought they only considered you for LSP. and no, i didn’t

do any of you guys have exams on the day we find out?

@halflokum this may sound silly, but where on Albert does it show the acceptance? Thanks :)

It was last year so I forget and I can’t log into Albert now to look around to try to remember because my daughter controls the account now as it is tied to her email and everything she does at NYU and obviously that’s her business. BUT I want to say where ever it is you go to look at your application status will suddenly have a decision tab. You will not see it until it appears.

Cool. Thank you!

^I did find the screen shot that I saved and I think it is something that eventually shows up in the application status field. Good luck!!

@anoeltner, yes i have a HUGE history test… so annoyed.
