hey guys, i couldn’t help but check out some of your questions about your admission decisions so I hope I can help you all out and ease a little of your pain! I was admitted ed I in december so I totalllly know what you guys are going through, it’s so stressful. so first of all, if you check your albert page and click on financial aid sometimes you’ll be able to figure out you’re admitted if you’re able to click on “2014” and view your aid. If it says “Award Access Not Available” then you a) have not been admitted or b) your aid has not been processed yet [after your decision comes out, usually the case]. A lot of people say they get an email when they find out they have been admitted but there are also other ways to tell. The way I found out was by clicking on “Application Status” and seeing that a little green button had appeared on the top that said “Admission Decision.” In fact, I didn’t get my email until much later that night so definitely check both places especially if you’re as impatient as me. Another good thing to know is that admission decision usually get sent out by school. So the pattern it was for us was that international students at stern often recieved their decisions first but more generally, stern kids recieved their admissions, then it was more jumbled with some tisch students, some gallatin students and some lsp students recieving their decisions mid-morning to afternoon. Then college of arts and science students were mostly last (that’s me… sooo much waiting) and I recieved by decision around 5 o’clock. So depending on your school you may recieve it at different times. Another final thing is, if you are admitted please join the NYU class of 2017 page on facebook!!! Everyone has been getting to know each other there and it’s suuuch a great resource. If you have any other questions you can email me at alexlovepinkx3 at yahoo dot com (sorry, it wouldn’t let me type it all out)!! Good luck everyone!

Thank you for your responce to this thread! Can you comment on the whole financial aid theory at all? Did your change to 2014? Do you know of any one whos aid changed early but did not end up being admited?

sure! i personally havent heard of a case where someones aid changed and they ended up not being admitted. ive heard for other schools but not nyu. i think the whole financial aid theory is generally accurate. if you see your aid change and you are able to click on the aid year then chances are you are admitted. if your aid doesnt change then dont worry either. it doesnt necessarily mean that you havent been admitted. you have to keep waiting. you will know you have a problem when you have been offered admission and your aid still hasnt changed because then there is a problem with processing/forms

Is NYU.edu down for everyone else too?

Nevermind. Just came back up.

Does anyone know when decisions should be coming up tomorrow (including the methods that adreams mentioned)? Like would it be in the morning or afternoon. Also my 2014 has not turned to a link is that bad?

My 2014 isn’t a link also.
The decisions are supposed to be sent out by (or from, I’m not so sure on that) 5 PM EST.

@adreams: And what with those whose aid did not change? Do they have the same chance of being admitted as the ones whose aid changed into 2014 “Award Acess Not Available” but aren’t able to click on it, or what?

Okay so for clarification purposes I am posting a link and going over what everyone’s been discussing.

There are a few possibilities for what your financial aid page may look like:
The first where there is no change
The second where it appears to have changed to 2014
CORRECTION the above link becomes clickable hours prior to an official email.

Correct me if I’m wrong here, but according to this I have the second:[Droplr Link](<a href=“Home • Droplr”>http://d.pr/i/Uigt)

I see the 2014 change but I can’t click on anything.

According to the post by the person who was accepted EDI the third scenario where the changed date is clickable hours prior to the email indicates acceptance. The second means you may be accepted. And the first means you may or may not be accepted.

In any case anything’s possible.

Anyone care to add/elaborate

^I think he’s trying to suggest that the link becomes clickable hours prior to an official acceptance email.

I do recall an error in the notification system from nyu’s ed1 thread where all the rejections were sent out superbly early and all the acceptances were sent out much later. Does this have anything to do with nyu’s policy on trying their best to notify students before and after their school day?

But that still doesn’t dispute the fact that we can’t really find anyone who has had no change and was accepted.

there’s only a handful of people who didnt get the change :(

Someone said there was one person in a past thread but… @rkl2195

Yep. I guess this forum is extremely smart then.

^y’all should post a screen shot of your status

No, @thextractor, “there’s only a handful of people who didnt get the change” HERE ON CC. You shouldn’t base your judgement on that.

So its no problem if the 2014 isnt a link right now, right?

Sorry if I confused anyone. The person above did a pretty good job summarizing but I’ll try to break it down. In any event, do not worry about your financial aid status, it will not tell you if you have been denied, only accepted.

“Award Access not Available” = you have not been accepted or denied
“No Financial Data Available” = it means just what it says, you have no data available. you have not been accepted or denied
If you can click on the aid year: “2014” then chances are you have been accepted

If you cannot click on 2014, DO NOT WORRY, it does not mean you’re denied, it just means your aid may not have been processed yet. you will still receive your admissions decision/email if you cannot click on 2014

long story short, do not stress about financial aid. above all else, you will recieve an email notifying your acceptance

If your aid message were to change due to acceptance, it would look like this: [Droplr • Screen Shot 2013-02-14 at 2.13.38 PM.png](<a href=“Home • Droplr”>http://d.pr/i/ByVg)

Notice how 2014 is able to click and it now says Financial Aid Year 2013-2014
