Everything on Albert isn’t checked off yet. I called and they said I should wait another week
If decisions aren’t released today, when are we hearing back?
@iveeehopeful i’m wondering this too… usually decisions are released every monday so this would be the first time the pattern breaks do you have any changes on your albert?
“Transfer applications are evaluated on a rolling basis and different programs will release decisions at different times. For the nursing program, you can expect to receive your decision at any point before the end of May.”
Thats the response I got in my email after emailing the office of admissions. As it stands, with finals week looming…I wouldnt be bothering myself checking every hour anymore. When it comes it comes. Got In at all schools I applied to…just waiting on NYU and University Of Virginia. Full ride offer at University Of North Carolina Chapel Hill …Doubt if NYU would even match that if I got In. I need a good financial aid package to even consider it if I got in. Good luck to every one and patience with the wait.
@1livelaughlove @hendrix3 I accepted and submitted my deposit as well. Did you guys receive information regarding your NYU email and stuff like that?
Thanks! I already got some internships related to my major so are there any other ways of showing interest?
@rik123 Nothing yet. I haven’t been contacted by NYU at all except for the confirmation of my deposit payment. Did you receive any info?
has anyone been accepted to tisch yet?
Has no one heard from Steinhardt?
Has anyone heard anything from Silver School?
my transfer credit report just showed up on my albert (: hopefully this is another good sign
I just got accepted !!! it was on my albert!!!
@packman012 congrats! where on albert did you see your decision?
Hey @melonsquare I read you comment about how you used to go to Pratt, and you transferred (?) to NYU! I came to Pratt and I’m doing architecture, but I really regret it and am planning to transfer to CS in NYU! Surprised to find someone with a similar story! I also wanted to pursue music, which is my dream - to become a producer, but right now architecture keeps me too busy, plus Pratt is too small for me… the experience in general is like meh… How was the transfer process? Did it go smoothly? I already sent the application, so there is not much more I can do atm but…
so people can prepare themselves: I did not get an email, I logged on to albert, clicked on application status, and there was a purple button above my checklist that said “admission decision” when i clicked on this it took me to another table, and in one column it says “decision letter.” you have to enable pop ups, then click on that and it will take you to a page with your letter of acceptance/rejection.
previous to being accepted, I had gotten the FA change to 2018, but nothing else. I applied February 17.
I was admitted to CAS as a history major. I am a rising sophomore from a small public school in VA.
HS GPA: 4.2 weighted, 3.6 unweighted (weakest part of application)
ACT: 33
lots and lot of extra curriculars in hs that i listed
College GPA: 3.98 (all A’s one A- in a freshman seminar class due to missing too many classes because I am an athlete)
Mid-Term GPA: 4.0
College extracurricular: division 1 athlete, honors college
I believe the reason I got in was because my essays were very strong because I have a unique reason for transferring. as a recruited athlete, I chose my college as a sophomore, so I was able to talk about how ive matured since making that decision and how specific events have made me realize what I want out of my college/life. I was also very specific about how NYU would help me reach my goals
side note: although I will be continuing my athletic career if i do decide to attend NYU, I got in completely on my own-- the coach did not talk to admissions for me.
I JUST GOT ACCEPT EDO HYMY GOD
@annadragon congrats!!! are you for sure going to NYU then? is there a groupme or something for accepted students? if not we should make one
I was accepted to tisch for film & tv!!
For future applicants:
I got the FA change on 4/21 and then the students tab and housing portal appeared on my albert on 4/22. i was able to access bursar through my albert account through the housing tab as well. i also was able to log into orgsync and sign up for clubs. just maybe an hour ago i got the transfer credit report. i believe these changes are definitely indicative of acceptance because in past threads almost everyone who had them (including myself) were accepted.
Here are my stats:
- College: University of Pittsburgh
- College GPA: 3.0
- I was at Pitt for only one semester so I only had 12 credits. I took calculus ©, statistics (B+), and intro to film (A)
- High school GPA: 3.7 UW (not sure what it was weighted but I took 11 honors classes and no APs)
- SAT: 1960/2400
- I had 2 letters of recommendation, one from my film professor and one from my advisor.
- My portfolio and essays were definitely the strongest part of my application. For future Tisch applicants, I did a short story for my creative submission rather than a short film or screenplay.
- As for demographic info, I’m a white female from a family who earns over 150k per year. Two of my step siblings graduated from NYU so I am technically a legacy.
Here are a few of my extracurriculars (not all of them)
- I was in the drama department for all 4 years of high school
- I have a successful youtube channel with over 55,000 subscribers
- I was involved in the resident student association as a floor representative while at Pitt
- I had lots of volunteer hours, both in college and in high school
- I was secretary of volunteer club and member of costume committee in the drama department
I hope this helps future applicants and congratulations everyone else who got in!!
@packman012 yes i’m going 100% lol i dont know if there’s a groupme for accepted students yet
also for anyone wondering: my housing hasn’t changed to transfer undergraduate and i had all the changes except for that
I just found out that I got into CAS Chemistry. I’m a rising junior, and my college GPA is 3.68.
