@nyutransfer123 nothing yet
God that sucks man. Columbia comes out tomorrow (definitely not getting in) and I’ll have to wait til god knows when for NYU.
@myfrienddune Late May!!! That’s insane.
Accepted to CAS from the University of Rochester 30 minutes ago! And for those wondering, no my Albert didn’t change at all and not everything was checked off (although I did confirm with NYU to make sure they had it).
@MattFoo congrats! If I may ask, what major did you apply for CAS?
@cjeong98 Thanks! I applied as a mathematics major.
@NYUhopeful_1198 Sorry man, that sucks… I’ve seen you post a lot in this forum and I’m sorry. I thought you would have been accepted…
Hi guys, I just got an email that says my admissions decision is on Albert… but it’s not. Has this happened to anyone else?
@cjeong98 I got less than $8k in schloarships and the rest is basically loans
ACCEPTED TO STERN!!!
HS Gpa: 3.50/4.00 (rough)
College gpa: 3.91/4.00
I go to the top 2 public universities in my state (specifically for business)
Weaknesses: my high school academics for sure. Below average gpa for stern and my ACT was a 30.
Strengths: my college gpa. I developed two very different yet very strong relationships with two of my professors who wrote me recs. I would rate them both a solid 9/10. My personal essay was truly the shining piece of my application. I wrote about how I have come to the gradual realization that I am gay and that the college I am currently in doesn’t give the freedom that I am looking for. The supplement essay I made it very very specific to Stern. I wrote about my experience with using the Bloomberg Terminal and how I am confident that I want to pursue finance.
Note: I put stern as my first choice and then Tandon and CAS as backups. I did not even mention Tandon and CAS in my supplement essay because I didn’t know we had to but I guess the luck was in my favor for this one.
@terr24lr omg congrats!!! Wow, I think you’re the first person on here that applied to Stern and got in! I applied to Stern as well, but I’m still waiting to hear back… I contacted the Admissions Office like two weeks ago asking them about the admissions rate for Stern external transfers, and they said 1%. I hope I get in like you, but I’m not too confident Again, Congrats!!
Oh yeah, I also mentioned CAS and Tandon as my backups on the application, and didn’t mention them in the essay and heard that if you applied to Stern and mentioned alternatives, they won’t even consider you for them, but seeing that you had the same backups makes me feel a little bit better.
Also, did you have any changes on your Albert, like FA, being able to log into OrgSync, housing, etc?
@cjeong98 Not going to lie…part of me is in such an extreme shock that I am scared they’re going to email me back in a few days saying “yeah sorry youre actually not accepted this was a mistake”
But thanks though! I really hope you get into!!! You’ve been like my stern buddy here on cc! External to stern is so competitive but if I can get in, so can you Good luck.
@terr24lr haha don’t worry, I’m pretty sure if that even happened, they would feel so bad for sending you the wrong decision, and offer you a spot anyways, but you 100% deserved it! And yeah, we did converse a lot on CC
Just a few questions I have, what University do you currently attend, and did you have any changes on Albert or any other indication that you got accepted before you got your acceptance?
@cjeong98 Just for privacy reasons I will merely share that I do go to school in New York State. I did not have any changes on albert that I have noticed. But to be honest, for about a two weeks now I stopped checking albert for any changes- it literally make me a nervous wreck so I just stopped. I was in class today and I got an email from NYU telling me that my decision in ready. I waited 30min more for my class to end and then sprinted to a private spot to check my decision and then I proceeded to cry and call my parents.
Great questions @cjeong98 ! Congrats @terr24lr !!! And one more question I want to add is what where ur extra curriculars ?
@terr24lr That’s fine, I respect your privacy! Yeah, checking Albert every single second is not so healthy lol. I would totally cry too if I got into Stern!
@terr24lr Congrats!
@terr24lr CONGRATULATIONS. It is very hard to get in and you should believe in yourself and be very proud !!! hope some of the other stern applicants hear back very soon !! Again, congratulations !!!
@cjeong98 @TransferKid97 hope we hear back soon! lets all hope for the best!!
@AGuyWithAFry I know lol but I am going to be going to the new school and then I will apply to CAS next year. I think Gallatin just did not have as many spots open this year. But thank you and good luck!
