NYU Financial Aid - Can I increase it?

Hey everyone,

So, I applied to NYU as a transfer student and got accepted, with what I think is called the CAS grant/scholarship (from the individual school). I had a few questions:

1) Is this amount renewable every year if I reapply for financial aid?
2) Is it possible/normal/easy to increase this amount in future years if I continue as a student at NYU, or is it the be-all-end-all here amount for my financial aid for my career at NYU?

Thanks if you can answer :)

(1) Yes, you’ll get around the same amount every year
(2) Financial aid for transfers is limited, don’t expect to get anymore – at most, you can MAYBE get a few thousand ($1,000-$2,000) more per year.

It has never increased for us, even though one year my EFC went down. Dont expect abything more. The best you can do is appeal now, your first year. You may have better luck, but going forward, after your first year, its not gonna change.
