I got my acceptance packet today its gorgeous

@fd1995: I think so if there was a significant increase in family income.

BTW: Did you guys get your tuition deposit fee waived? or we still gotta pay for it?

Its waived

They said I got in but I still gotta pay the tuition deposit. I’ma have to call in to ask them to fee waive it for me then.

@duckuy1995 I called 1-212-998-4500 the undergraduate admissions office.

Is anyone else waiting for their admissions decision? I called today and they said I should know monday at the latest. Does anyone know if there are a certain number of slots available cause im afraid that I might not have gotten in since im being notified so late and the slots may have run out.

Thanks!! @nishat095

@sonia2580 I haven’t received my decision either. I called them and they also said that the latest I would find out would be the beginning of this upcoming week! I don’t think being notified late will affect decision because all admission applications are different! If they process a students application who has strong grades/test scores and seems to be stronger than someone else they already admitted theres no reason they would reject them! Thats the way I think it is, or I hope it’s that way! If you happen to get your decision post here just to have an idea of when I might get mine! Ill do the same! :)

@duckuy1995

I feel better knowing that I’m not alone. What college are you applying to? I applied to CAS. And I will definitely let you know if I get a notification :)

@sonia2580 I also applied to CAS but i’m thinking of transferring to Steinhardt because during my interview I said i’m interested in communication, media studies and culture. I think i want to join the entertainment industry so communications seems the right way to go! I also have a ton of other interests and hobbies I don’t want to stop! I play Paino and Saxophone and I would also like to continue French!! I have to talk to the program coordinators to see what NYU can offer me in terms of interdisciplinary curriculum! What are you planning on studying/ majoring in?? What are your interests??

@duckuy1995

Yeah you should definitely speak to someone about transferring to steinhardt. Based on your interests and hobbies, that sounds like the perfect fit for you. I’m interesting in medicine so I’m CAS is definitely the perfect school for me. I’m gonna major in Biology and minor in either journalism or Arabic. I love writing so I don’t wanna give that up. Hopefully we receive an admissions descion soon because I am so anxious!

@sonia2580
That’s great, biology is awesome and there will always be a future for medicine! I also love writing, creatively of course! I tend to keep a journal, and I write my experiences in a story form, changing the names of the people I interact with and I also include dialogue! NYC is the way to go when it comes to creativity and inspirations! And languages are awesome, having to learn English as my secondary language has inspired me to learn French and I would love to study abroad in NYU Paris if the chance arises! And yess, the wait has been too long, we need to find out soon since we have to decide by May 1st! Have you considered study abroad, NYU Abu Dhabi?

@Duckuy1995

Thats great, writing is a beautiful thing, I also prefer creative writing over everything, it just lets your mind flow. French is a difficult language to master but im sure with the help of NYU, you’ll be fluent in it within no time. I am actually considering studying abroad, its really tough to pick which city you want to study in though. Im stuck between Abu Dhabi, Florence and Paris. Im hoping to study abroad in my second semester of my sophomore year.

Does anyone know when the summer classes begin & end? And when do we have to accept the offer by, May 1st or is it different for HEOP students?

It’s usually beginning of July to sometime in August.

@sonia2580

I’m pretty sure that regardless of which one you end up choosing, it will be an amazing experience. French is difficult but I’m confident that if I study I’ll be able to master it some day; also the best way to learn a language is to live in places where it’s spoken. Study abroad is the best way to go. I’m more interested in experiencing the change of routine, how people interact differently in their daily life, especially in Paris!

@duckuy1995

I totally agree. Will you be dorming or commuting to NYU?

@sonia2580
I’ll be dorming since I live outside the five borough. I live in Westchester which is an hour away but I want the full college experience, and I would love to live in the city! How about you?

When I spoke to the guy in the opportunity programs office he said it begins either July 8th or 9th. Also i’ve spoken with alot of current HEOP students and most of them said their bestfriends are the HEOP students so I guess I will be getting to know you all alot better pretty soon. It’s weird that all of us that are on here could end up being the best of friends and we don’t even know it.

When you guys got into HEOP, did it say that your major will be undeclared for now?
