NYU... Is it worth it?

<p>I am one in the crowd of thousands that has this grand dream of going to NYU. My stats are
Race: White
Top 27% of class
29 ACT
3.64/3.5 W/UW GPA
One or two EC</p>

<p>Obviously my stats are weak and I know there is a slim chance that I will get in but if I do.. We have a problem. My parents tell me that I will probably graduate 60k in debt if I go to NYU. They also say that if I went to a cheaper school… say UW Madison, they would be able to cover the whole cost and not have to rely on student loans. I really feel like NYU is the place I need to be because if I can get a business degree from there I feel like it will set me much farther ahead than a business degree from UW Madison. What do you think? Is/would it be worth it?</p>

<p>You cannot borrow $60K under federal student loan limits. If your parents want to lend you additional money and then you have you pay it back, that’s another story.</p>

<p>UW-Madison has a really good undergraduate business program. It’s not NYU, but students do really well there. In any case, YOU are going to “set yourself farther ahead” based on your talent and ambition.</p>

<p>You should do some research on both schools and then see what you think.</p>
