NYU is my dream school, chance for CAS?

Hello NYU is my first choice for college. Although it's expensive, it's my light at the end of the tunnel from my crazy junior year.

Freshman year: I did not understand the importance of school at the time, and as such I took no APs (I opted out out of AP World) and only one honors. 3.7 UW. No extracurriculars other than band.

Sophomore year: I took two honors, Spanish and Trig. Continued with band. I got into National honor society, stuck with band and played in my schools pit orchestra. Still a 3.7 UW.

Junior year: Here's where things pick up. 2 AP classes (APUSH and AP Literature,) 4 college classes (Spanish, Intro to Calc, and Psychology/Sociology, both of which were half year courses.) Honors Physics and Honors Wind Ensemble (advanced band.) I joined a plethora of clubs such as Drama Club, Spanish Club, History Club and I was inducted into Tri-M music honor society. I also auditioned and participated in the school musical. Intend on trying to surpass my current 3.7 UW by the end of the year.

Senior year (future): I intend on taking 5 APs. AP Gov, Calculus, Language, Spanish and Physics B to make up for those I haven't taken my first two years.

I'm taking 7 APs, about half of what my school offers. Hoping to get higher than a 3.7 UW by the end of the year. I'll probably get around 1950 on my SAT, although I'm hoping for +2000.

I'm not in any sports because when I was born I had complications with my heart, preventing me from any physical activity outside of mandated gym. I intend on writing my essay about this.

I'm white, middle class, and male. I am also the vice president of my youth group, and have many hours of community service.

I sing in vocal jazz, will be section leader of the clarinets in my senior year (I'm going All State Nyssma) and I also play alto saxophone, bass clarinet and am learning bagpipes.

Do I have a chance even though I didn't have a rigorous schedule my first two years of high school?

@Achroma what program are you applying into? It makes a tremedous difference which school you want to apply to.

Your chances are pretty good with a 3.7 GPA. Your SAT score should be between 1950 and 2200, as that is the average score for CAS students. Keep taking rigorous but manageable classes, and you will be fine.
