NYU- Is there a chance for a small-town Oregonian?

So I've been dreaming of NYU for the past ten years. I'm an English major hailing from one of the dullest and least stimulating towns in Oregon, and quite possibly the entire universe.
I have a 3.91 GPA Unweighted (was 3.94 before first semester Senior year). Weighted it's about a 4.5-ish? Unfortunately I received the dismal SAT scores of an un-skilled test-taker (1880 SAT: 590 M, 630W, 660 CR) and the sub-par subject test scores of 600 Lit and 650 US History. I've taken 2 AP tests (US History:4, and Human Geography:3). By graduation I will have taken 8 AP classes: History, Human Geography, Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, English, Photography, and Government, as well as four Honors classes. I've taken four years of theatre classes --including a special audition-only children's theatre troupe--and performed in several productions. I've been a member of The Spanish club, leader of Challenge Day club, an Outdoor school counselor, President of the United Nations Foundation, Editor of our school newspaper (participant for three years), member of National Honor Society, and coordinator of a local toy drive. As an accomplished writer, I've won A "golden key" from the Scholastic Arts and Writing competition and been published on Teenink.com. In addition, I completed a Creative writing summer program at Columbia University this summer. Also, I identify myself as partially American Indian and Jewish. My essay was probably the highlight of my application.

What do you think?

Also, ranked 17/261.

Any responses from those knowledgeable in NYU’s admission proceedings would be greatly appreciated!

Please, any input you can muster! Going crazy waiting until the 1st!

to be honest, you never know. NYU may accept someone with a 1900 SAT to stern and then reject someone with a 2200 for CAS

Any more input? Anyone?

Odd username for someone who’s been dreaming of NYU for 10 years.

Haha, it was meant to be ironic.

AP Photography?? Okay…
Well aside from your impressive extracurriculars, you should be quite competitive for admissions. Now, the essay - the big kahuna - is the factor of your admission really. You really have to push yourself to stand out from the rest of others who’ve taken the same classes, have the same GPA’s, and of course even share the same extracurriculars - if not, more (like Government and Leadership positions in Student Council).

Good luck, Yale lover.
