NYU or Loyola Marymount University?

Hello fellow CCers, I cannot decide on which college I should go to. Here's what I keep thinking about:
1. I want to work on film, BUT NOT GO TO SCHOOL FOR IT. I've heard it's not a smart idea from people that work in the film industry, so I'm going to get a backup degree just in case film doesn't work out. So I applied as undecided.
2. I visited Los Angeles and was really disappointed. Very dirty, and there was a lot of poverty. In my opinion, there isn't very much glitz and glamour there - but is NYC the same?
3. I loved Loyola Marymount's campus. It's like a resort - it's beautiful. But I don't want to spend everyday there.
4. Money wise, both LMU and NYU gave me similar packages. About $13K-17K in debt every year. Of course I'll be working, but it seems like NYU has a lot more internship opportunities available than LMU. But then again, Los Angeles is THE place to work on films and TV.
5. I'm concerned that there isn't a campus at NYU, or at least a place that let's you know "This is New York University". And also, I'm concerned about the social life at NYU.
6. NYU is more prestigious, in my opinion, than LMU.
7. I'm also from Ohio, so NYU is a lot closer than LMU.
8. I've heard the Liberal Studies Program at NYU is looked down upon. This makes me concerned because I don't want to pay a ton of money for my first two years on really crappy classes.

So there you have it everyone - I'm kind of stuck in a bind. A part of wants to go to Loyola, because I love film so much and I'll be close to the industry. Also I loved the campus and climate too. But a part of me wants to go NYU, because my financial aid package was way better than most applicants, internship opportunities are more abundant, and it's a prestigious university.

If any NYUers could give me some input, share their experiences or if they're familiar with LMU, shed some more light, that'd be awesome.
Thanks guys.

It’s going to be difficult for you to find internships working in film when you’re not a film major (i.e. not Tisch). All of the student that I know who work for film/TV internships are all from Tisch. Why would a film or TV internship hiring person choose you over someone from NYU Tisch (In NYC), USC or UCLA (In LA), when they could choose someone who actually studies film?

NYU owns a group of buildings around Washington Square Park, and it’s pretty easy to point and say “That’s NYU”.

There will be poor places everywhere, but NYU is not located in one - in fact, it’s one of the most expensive areas in Manhattan.

I wouldn’t worry about NYU not being in LA, there are plenty of opportunities in NYC and you can apply for summer internships literally anywhere.

LSP is looked down upon by most students because it has been an easier to get into school. However, that’s been changing with even top students getting put into LSP. LSP courses are not ‘crappy’ - they’re pretty much NYU CAS classes but with smaller class sizes, which is actually a benefit, not a drawback.
