NYU or Mcgill?

Well, the question says it all. I have a similar thread in the Mcgill forum, but of course that is biased because of the forum that it is in. I'm making one in the NYU forum to see the other side of the bias. Let me know what you think, based on:

The city
The students
The cost
The studies (Arts)
The personal attention
The internships
The job opportunities, during your schooling and after graduation
The overall atmosphere
Anything else

It is a laughable question. Unless you plan on working in canada or are addicted to winter and want to be a french language major-- you would be a complete fool to choose magill. Nyu is in the best city in the world--internships and job opportunities are FAR superior at NYU. Unless you want to be a ski instructor. Please a more serious question next time.

1) McGill has a good rep outside of Canada
2) it's spelled McGill, not magill
3) NYU is not a city

Still, I would probably choose NYU, but am applying to both. McGill is much cheaper.

Who said NYU is a city ? A good rep HMMMM ---WOW great comeback LOL. If you are at all serious the choice is NYU.
Heck two thirds of mcgill has to come from Quebec. Enough said. Finally you get what you pay for.

I'm planning on applying to both colleges, and I don't think the situation is quite as easy as ellockonyu is making it seem to be. Montreal is a really cool city and McGill has a really good reputation. Of course, NYC and NYU are also pretty amazing. But it is definitely not laughable to choose McGill over NYU.

Yes, seempand it really is laughable. I do wish you well on your career as a french speaking ski instructor though. I hear they have a "good rep"

Ellockonyu, i don't appreciate your comments. This is mean to be serious. I'd like some advice.

You can't go wrong with either. Choose the one you prefer. McGill will be a little cheaper however. McGill has an excellent reputation in both Canada and the US and so does NYU.

You edited your post. It originally said "NYU is a great city."

If I edited I would have changed "magill" and the post would show the time of edit. You should admit your own mistakes. Perhaps magill/mcgill would be best for you.

good point, but you could just be clever enough to change some of it and not the rest.

Either way, given your previous posts, I imagine my stats are quite a bit higher than yours, so I should have the option between NYU and McGill. I'll let ya know which one I choose.

I do not contest that you may get into any one school. However if you have looked at my prior posts(as you suggest) you know my stats were above average for NYU and you realize I am starting at NYU this fall after just being accepted a few months ago ED. If you also join the fall class of 2007 with me, I wish the best for us both. --Brand take NYU.

thanks I probably will.

haha what a funny thread.

i say nyu.

This brought the LOL****INGTASTIC

That's good vgurl & firewalker. Because please remember--"its MEAN to be serious"

If the people at NYU are anything like you, ello, then you've made up my mind--no NYU for me.

Glad I could be of help to you coffee.

Ahahahahahahaha.

All canadians arent all ski instructors by the way. Also, you can get by in montreal and at McGill without french - everyone speaks english as well as french. I'm considering going there in the fall but I've also applied to NYU so I kinda in your shoes as well. Presonally, I feel McGill has less freedom in education compared to NYU. Correct me if I'm wrong, but NYU is more of a liberal arts school than McGill, I unno thou. My advice... visit both, assuming you get or have already been accepted, and see which one is better for you. NYC and Montreal are very different cities so see which one you like best along with the school b/c since they are both in a big city, the city is a big part of the school. Best of luck.
