NYU-Poly for Fall 2013?

I will be graduating in 2013 and would like to attend either NYU or NYU-Poly in the Fall of 2013. My intended major is computer science.

However, I have read that NYU-Poly is expected to become an official school of NYU, renamed as "New York University School of Engineering and Technology". Does this mean that NYU-Poly will no longer be a separate school and therefore, no longer have a separate admissions process? Are all of the engineering and technology classes being removed from CAS and put into the School of Engineering and Technology? If so, does this mean I would be applying to this new engineering school instead of CAS?

I originally intended on applying ED to CAS, and if rejected from there, applying to NYU-Poly. I'm afraid that won't be the case though once it's my time to apply. Can anybody confirm this?

No-one knows anything yet. The whole application thing is kind of a mess.

^ he’s kind of right. it sounds like a lot of politics, diplomacy, contracts, negotiations…yeah i.e. a mess.

My guess? They say that the merger will be finished by 2012. But Poly will, I believe/envision, still have its unique admissions process. Why? Because all the different individual schools within NYU already do too… Stern is diff than Tisch etc.

When computer science CAS courses will migrate to Poly? Hmm… again I’m guessing, but I think at the end of this year is a 50% possibility. It would be higher but this is a pretty epic move, so I think it’d take longer. I think either way, you’d have to take some courses at Poly. Which won’t suck if you’re a cool nerd and we like you :)
