I got into NYU poly and plan to be a physics major there. If I decide to go to the school I plan to take the upper level physics classes at regular NYU. I want to know how rigorous is the physics program at poly. Are the honor mechanics and E@M classes there just as difficult as the classes are a school like MIT, or even Stony Brook? I'd appreciate if anyone who is physics major at poly can help me answer my question or someone knowledgeable about the program thanks.

The professors are quite brilliant and provide excellent research opportunities. We do problems bottom-up in the honors mechanics course (Read: The long way, as in taking 60 minutes to derive everything from F = dv/dt(momentum) and triangulation) and is pretty enriching if you favor the fundamentals of physics, but can be downright headache inducing for people that simply wish to use existing formulae
