Can someone help me? I got into Macaulay Honors at CCNY and NYU Poly with an engineering grant, for which I would only have to pay $9000 a year. I plan to go post grad and study Computer Science. What are your thoughts?? My deadline is in a few days!

Can someone give some up-to-date reviews on both of these schools and some thoughts on where I should go? Thanks!

Anybody? I’ve been hearing CS at Grove CCNY is decent, and the one-on-one attention for Macaulay students is great. Any Macaulay students? How is life different for you than for regular CUNY students academically?

How much would each cost you before any loans?
You may want to post this on each college forum (scroll down on the first page and look for “alphabetical list of colleges”)

Well, Macaulay Honors is full tuition, books, supplies, research, and cultural passes for NYC (and a macbook). For Poly I would have to pay $9000 a year with scholarships, before any loans.

$9,000 would mean a federal loan and a job during the summer plus a few hours during the year. Do you feel able to do that?
Essentially it means Poly is doable financially. It’d be less of a commuter experience, you’d meet students from a greater variety of places, and overall it’d be more “comfortable” with more resources, smaller classes, etc. Plus the NYU “brand” - check to see whether you’d be allowed to take advantage of their NYU abroad campuses, especially Abi Dhabi since they want engineers badly.
On the other hand, Macaulay really is a great deal and Macaulay scholars are prized by the CUNYs.
