NYU RD Notification Date

I got in today! I’m thrilled, I didn’t expect to get in. I applied to be a polisci major, but got in today to the Core Program. Two of my friends got the same email. Why did we get moved? None of us applied to the program. I’m not complaining, I just want to know why the school thinks we should be in that program.

I got the same email. I’m guessing that means we weren’t accepted to the program that we applied for? :(

I applied RD 2 years ago (NYU class 2014) and found out my admissions decision a good week and a half before. I received an email saying “book a flight to New York!” but it didn’t say that I was accepted. I got confused and ended up calling the admissions office, and they asked for my name (and a few other questions). Then they said “Oh! Congratulations, our records indicate that you have been accepted to NYU!” The same thing happened to someone else at my school.

Good luck everyone! :)

Daughter just checked her email about an hour ago…She was accepted.

I haven’t got any email. Is that bad news?

It might depend on the school you applied to. @b767gal, which school did your daughter get accepted into?

I applied for the dual degree program with Poly and CAS

So far it seems like only people in the Liberal Studies Core program have gotten emails. I think it’s because they want people to select what site they’d enter at, since there’s the option of studying abroad freshman year.
I want to see if I get accepted to any other schools, but I know spending next year in London would be spectacular…

I got in for the MLK Scholars

4.3 weighted GPA
2080 SAT
680 SAT US
750 SAT Spanish Reading
Mostly 4’s and 5’s on AP tests ( I took like 10 AP classes)

I did a lot of community service and my essay was about social justice and devoting my life to helping others.
URM( Hispanic) and First-generation college

Question for RD applicants not yet accepted:
Logged into Albert tonight and found Financial Aid link had changed from:

“No Aid Award Available” to

“Aid Year (2013)/Institution (NYU)/Access (Not Avail)”
(items in () listed below the headings of “Aid Year” et.) with a message to click the year to view aid (or something similar) but can’t click the year.

Did this change happen with everyone?

I didn’t get the change.

I can already feel that I won’t get accepted and it’s making me depressed. I really want to go to NYU.

Mango - don’t lose hope yet, I just went through a bunch of past posts and most of the financial aid requests didn’t mean anything as far as acceptance. The change was something no one mentioned so I am just curious.

Ben, mine says that and I’ve already received a scholarship, but idk if there is any correlation.

How do I sign into Albert? How do I get my Net ID?

Thanks Ben, but the reason i’m sure it does mean something is because that happened to me with Syracuse right before I got in.

This wait is terrible

<a href=“Albert Login”>Albert Login;

Can’t remember where we got the NetID & password; probably email, and I wrote it down.

If you were accepted into the Core Program, it says in the email that financial aid information will not be released until the official admissions decision date, April 1st. I assume this applies for all other applicants.

I applied for College of Arts and Science but I didn’t get an email yet and I think my friends who applied did! Does that mean I’m most likely not accepted? :((((!

kalifornya: Most of the RD applicants haven’t been informed of their admissions decision so far. People who have gotten into the Core Program and who have received scholarships have been informed already. NYU didn’t say why they’ve informed the Core Program students early, but some people think that it is so they can select which site they want to attend.

Whats the MLK Scholars???

and I applied to Stern but I didn’t know NYU gave out scholarships early to people. I thought it was just USC that did that because they had the early scholarship application deadline. Has anyone from Stern been accepted?
