for the fulll article.

It's from the official NYU website.

how do you think this will affect next year's ED and RD acceptances.

It's very possible that they'll have to accept more this year to yield 4,200, right?

if you have test scores and everything, you should really apply ED. It not only shows your strong intention to attend NYU, but also the early decision pool tend to be composed of weaker candidates than RD pool.

ED can't hurt unless you can significantly improve your SAT score on december or something...

I have to disagree about ED can't hurt. I did ED last year to Stern. I love it. I love the city. But I was a very strong candidate - National awards, 1540/2260, top 10% top HS, strong leadership and summer experieces. I feel now that if I had applied RD, I may have been offered Stern Scholars and it bums me out sometimes.

stern scholars program is gone anyways. they got rid off it starting this year

Oh, really? I hadn't heard. In some strange way that makes me feel better. Thanks.

Proud member of this class baby! I'm so proud and humbled that i got in ED. Good luck to everyone who hasn't found out yet, and hang in there!

ahh this waiting is seriously killing me, and now that RD people are starting to get their decisions, it's only making me more nervous.

I love how it said that 6,000 people waited until the last day to apply.

EDIT: That was in reference to the WSN article about admissions rather than the one posted above.

Riiiiidic.

29%...some kinda braggin rights and street creds to throw in the faces of the Brown, Dartmouth and Cornell acceptees who still have some IVY attitude

There were ED Stern Scholars last year, actually... not that many, but there are some that I know.

Does NYU take into consideration how early you turned in your application during the admission process?

probably not. I wonder if you didn't get a GSP notice now, if you can still get GSPed?

yeah I wonder also, I hope.

are we supposed to receive our decisions on April 1st or is it the latest date? wen do applicants usually get their decisions? :S

yeah i was wondering the same thing, ranurma. i heard from people that NYU usually waits till late march to send out decisions.
