I had applied to NYU CAS and unfortunately I was not accepted. I applied to NYU SCPS Paul Mcghee division and got accepted. I also applied to UM College of Arts and Sciences and got accepted. I am debating on which school to transfer. I want to attend NYU but I want to go to CAS is it possible to transfer from scps? which school is better NYU (SCPS) or UM (CAS) ?

NYU-SCPS will not transfer to other NYU schools. I’ve heard NYU-SCPS is solid and the graduates actually acquire a decent chunk of job offers. They get paid better out of school too than other schools in NYU. Faculty have real world experience and are current professionals in the field. The other schools are purely academic or research based with their professors. I rather choose professors with experience over those with immense academics. NYU-SCPS also is fairly well connected and networked per the diversity of students you encounter. It’s also much cheaper. HA.

UM as in Michigan?

What are the cost differences?

UM as in Miami. The liberal arts college at Michigan is LSA and not CAS.

I’m sending in my packet tonight or this weekend. Last I checked, the cost was 10-13k a semester versus the 30k+ or something at CAS, Steinhert or Stern. That isn’t too bad compared to what you’d get at a typical state college.
