NYU Spring '10 Transfers!

So I have successfully logged in to my online thing, but I was looking for housing since the deadline is December 11 th and I noticed that it said “Housing Classification: Waitlist Student”. Does that mean that I am waitlisted to apply, or simply waitlisted for housing? Or maybe something completely different?

Ugh I would hate to have been wait listed!!
So far none of us have been rejected?! That’s great news!
How many of you folks are matriculating?

Thats rough. I’m hoping I get some sort of letter in the mail because my NetID works, but it still is saying internal server error when I try to get through completely after setting my password and stuff. Wonder what this all means…

JiuDoji - The same thing happened to me and I panicked for a minute. But, I don’t think we’ve been wait listed. I think it’s because our acceptances haven’t been completely processed.

Don’t worry guys, I’m fairly certain that the acceptance letters come with a disk that is needed to grant full access to NYUhome . Don’t worry, just relax. I’m not looking forwar to paying this damn $800 deposit…

Just confirmed my acceptance to Gallatin.

i think that housing deadline is for existing NYU students? i’m not sure.

hm… admission committee said letter will arrive at my home by this week.
with no mentioning about acceptance/rejection ( i guess that’s normal…)

and i’m having same problem as citysearching… internal server error.

if we got official netid, we souldn’t be worried… correct??

I hope that’s the case. Is it possible to have been rejected if we were given a NetID?

Donny how did you confirm your acceptance? Another day with no mail, the mass amounts of snow didn’t help though.

Anybody think I could get into Stern with a 3.8 from a decent state school (UMass) but a 2.1 high school gpa?

It’d be tough. I had a 3.7 from a school very similar to umass and applied to CAS. We shall see the result…Also it depends how many credits you have. I feel like to have any shot you would have to be at least transferring for your second semster sophomore year or going into junior year, so HS would matter less and less.

I called Admissions and spoke with a wicked chill guy who just told me that I was all set and that I had been accepted. He said that my package was mailed Dec. 4th, but my mail just came and there wasn’t anything from NYU.

hmm so what did you ask? I feel like they wouldn’t tell me anything if I called and asked about it…

So I registered and my netID worked and everything and I now have an NYU email…A little more re-assuring, but still nothing in the mail.

City- There are two ways to go about it.

Call admissions and say you are holding acceptances from ( Ivy league 1) and ( Ivy league 2 ), and they both require a deposit by weeks end but NYU is your first choice.
That should do it… But if it doesnt.

You can call financial aid and tell them you were notified over the phone by a counseler you were accepted, but ask what your financial aid options are.
Either should work.

i think citysearching and i are on the exactly same process.

i have my nyu.edu email as well… and i can send emails and get emails.

doesn’t that…already mean something?

also… home.nyu.edu is only accessible to… students/faculty/staff i believe…

+1 I think all 3 of us are in the same situation (CAS Econ?)

anyways, my NetID just worked! phuq yeaaaa.

haha yeah…looks like CAS econ is getting the shaft right now in terms of letters being mailed out…if I don’t hear anything by tomorrow I’ll give them a call…Already stuck with my housing deposit for my current school for next semester so no reason to rush now I guess.

City-

Well I think it is actually only the minority of people on here who have received letters… I know I havn’t. But if your log in thing works for you thats great! Im just glad to have an @NYU.edu email!! hahaha, I kinda want to apply to Ivy for fall sem… oh well im not passing up on NYU!

Out of curiosity why are you folks transfering in spring instead of waiting till fall?
I know its costing me about 22k, but financially still makes sense cause I can still make money out there.

ohhhh well!
