I apologize for the length of this but I really need some advice. My college life so far has been a little chaotic. This is supposed to be my junior year of undergrad but I had to leave school in the middle of freshman year 2012-2013 due to an illness and had to withdraw from 4 out of 5 of my classes which totally messed up my four year plan. Getting back to school the following year was really rough and my grades pretty much tanked. I took 12 credits, so four classes and I got two Cs, a D, and an A but I retook the class I got a D in and replaced it with an A so that’s wiped from my transcript but still, pretty bad semester. Every semester since has been better but each semester I have gotten either a C or C+ in one class. This is techinally my second year of school that I’m about to finish. I just declared as an English major in elementary education last semester and I still have two more years to go. I just recently decided that I really want to go for a master’s at NYU Steinhardt for an educational theatre degree and potentially go on for a doctorate once I’m done with undergrad but I’m worried I won’t have a shot at getting in even if I work super hard and try to get all As from here on out. If I really dedicate myself, and I think I can do it, do you think I have a shot at it? Or will my history totally ruin my chances regardless?
