NYU Stern External Transfer Qs

I am about to complete my freshman year @ NYU Stern. I am half-wanting to transfer to UT Austin, McCombs, preferrably BHP, due to financial issues and personal preferences. I was accepted last year as a high school graduate with almost full scholarship.
Unfortunately, I forgot that I had to actually apply to the school before using the BHP application. The general UT application was due March 1 and I thought that it was all due at the same time with the BHP application on May 1.

I have a couple of questions:

Does McCombs and/or BHP accept Spring applications? I can't find McCombs in the dropdown menu for the Spring application.
Do I even have a chance? (I only have a 3.25 GPA after Freshman Fall, hoping to raise it to at least a 3.6 after this semester and I seem to only have 3/5 courses completed.)
Would they accept applications after my sophomore year?

I need help. :(

mccombs only accepts fall applications

Yeah, you can apply after your soph year, but ur GPA is too low.
Need at least 3.7 for a prayer of a shot

Ehh, I don’t think you really have a chance. To get into McCombs externally you would need at least a 3.9 probably…and McCombs only accepts fall applicants. Internally the average is a 3.8 but the low end of the accepted internals is 3.6. That would not work for you though because by then you would have way to many credits. If you have over 60 McCombs labels you as a “minimum priority” and you have no chance to get in.

are you guys sure? this guy goes to NYU, which is usually considered better than UT in many cases.

I don’t believe BHP takes external transfers, only internal transfers. And even if they did, they would not accept you with a 3.25 OR a 3.6. However, if you were to get in to UT McCombs, they would only use your UT GPA in determining whether to accept you as an internal transfer, so you would start over again with the chance to make a 4.0.

I don’t think the odds are very high to get into McCombs as an external transfer even if you do get your GPA up to a 3.6. The competition externally is nasty.

I believe the boat for BHP has sailed for you too. They only accept transfers after the freshman year, and since you’ve let the the deadline pass, you’ll have too many hours whenever you do get to apply. Honestly too, BHP won’t take a 3.6 external.

I don’t mean to be negative but only realistic. Sorry.
