I am a transfer student thinking of applying for the BHP. Does anyone know what criteria do they take into consideration when they are evaluating the application? Do they take into consideration high school rank and high school GPA?

From what I’ve gathered the process takes your SAT score, your rank, and your resume in to consideration. Having a stacked resume is a big plus for BHP. Also, have you been contacted for an interview?

I also applied to Mccombs externally, but I think I have about a 1.78% of getting in. So to do BHP as a sophomore, you have to apply before you get in? I’d love to at least apply, but I wont have 30 hrs till May so I wont now if im rejected till then. Whats ur stats? (Business Indicator Courses, GPA, Hrs)

nah to apply for BHP u have to apply for McCombs too. They’ll review your application if you get submitted an application to UT. However, if you get a rejection from McCombs and gain admission for the honors(which is unlikely), u cant enroll.
i have all 5 indicator courses, 4.0 gpa, currently completed 33 hours and enroled in another 12. :)

Nice. How are your EC’s, essays, and letters of rec? If you have those and they are strong, I’d give you an 80% chance. Without, probley around 45%. Sounds like your on the right track tho. You can always internally transfer if you dont get in right away. You never know what the pool of applicants are like. It also sucks how there are only like 75 spots avail. and hundreds of applications.

When I applied as a sophomore transfer for BHP, my friend who was already in the program strongly recommended that I find an internship for that summer and add it to my resume. As is usually the case in business, I suspect BHP admissions puts a high premium on internship experience. On the other hand, my advisers only stressed maintaining good grades and showing student leadership. Everybody applying to BHP is well-qualified academically, but a forthcoming internship definitely sets you apart from the pack.

well… i wish i could do that. am an international student. i cant do any internship in the US unless it is required for my major. and ACC with my current major did not mandate a internship. :(
