NYU Stern (UNDERGRADUATE) and some others

Projected GPA at the time of application: 3.60-3.67
December SAT score: 1490 (760 English, 730 Math).
I am currently practicing for the ACT, I might do the ACT instead of retaking the SAT.

For purposes of admissions, let’s just pretend that my SATs have improved to a 1550 and my ACT is a 35. (Just to see my chances if I do well). I also intend on doing SAT II subject tests in math, chemistry, and maybe another one. I can’t give an estimate of them yet, but let’s say I do quite well.

In my sophomore year, I have taken three AP classes, and in junior year (right now), I’m taking four.
I’ve gotten a 5 in AP Macroeconomics and a 5 in AP Calculus AB.

I also do a lot of clubs; I am probably going to be Secretary-General of my school’s Model UN club senior year. I am considering a run for an officer position within Student Council: I’ve been a member of both since Freshman year. I am also the inaugural and incumbent treasurer for my school’s FBLA club, which was founded this year. I am in charge of organizing fundraisers, and I’ve already raised hundreds of dollars despite my club being new.

I go to a public magnet school in New Jersey.

I would like to know my chances at getting accepted into NYU Stern (the undergraduate finance major at New York University). Can anyone give some input?

I was accepted into Stern for the class of 2022 ED I. Your stats are pretty good and give you a decent shot at getting into Stern. I would definitely take the SAT II. Is your GPA unweighted or weighted? If it is weighted it may be a little low for Stern. Continue with your extracurriculars and I would say to try and do some centered around entrepreneurship. Here are my stats if you want a point of comparison.

If you want any more information or any one on one advice for college admission or to look over your essays or anything at all don’t hesitate to message me. I think this list is pretty comprehensive but just message me if you have any other questions.

Hey, I’m just wondering but was it difficult for you to manage so many AP classes? For instance, sophomore year, about how many hours a night of HW did you have? I’m just curious because I don’t know about taking APs

I’ll talk about my sophomore year. I took AP Calculus AB, AP Physics 2, and AP Macroeconomics. Now, AP Macroeconomics was good for me because my teacher assigned homework in ‘big packets’ style. I would listen and learn during class, and do the big packets during the weekend, when I had time.

For AP Calculus AB and AP Physics 2, and with the other classes I had, I’d say that it would take me about (on average) 3-4 hours per night, since they came rather easily to me.

Also, the GPA I wrote was unweighted.
